This meme is made by ~m-u-h-a ([link] ). Thank you, i had a lot of fun with it)Sooo..... i think i did ok. The only problem i had is that copying other people's styles leaves you with a lacking control over the mood and atmosphere (i cannot tell if i drew it myself, but may be it's the point)...
Here is my small comment on it (you can skip it ^____^):
First, my girl from a comics (nothing new here).
Than, yeah, Disney turned out to be the most boring and flat out of the bunch, normally they don't do shadowing... It turned out to look like a frame from a cheap 60s-80s animation, hehe)
CLAMP - i'm really proud of it. What if Sakura was a brunette. I think they changed their style few years ago, i haven't read any new series.
Marvel... more like Dark Horse, but i wasn't trying to copy any particular artist (may be i should have drawn in Liefeld's style
Miyazaki - not the animation, but his comics. Hazy, but looks ok).
Dirge-semi-Vasquez. I think, i went a little lazy with it....
...Because the next one was Ledroit.... And, yes, it was a nightmare, since all his characters are heavily sexualized gothic angry demons (or vampires or witches or...). I don't know... Olivier is just one of a kind, you can't simply copy him)
Chibi - looks like a little fairy, hehe)
Anyway, it was a nice week of style-changing (you can check the rest in my gallery). Now i can return to drawing... something else O____O.

The Roman Dirge style kinda looks like Tim Burton's style.

I have been drawing.. hm... since i was little (i think like most of us). i'm not a professional and, sadly, never studied for art....

haha, that is so true XD
Oh, I see. I saw some of your art work, or a lot in fact, and you have such a unique style. It looks like it could find into some kind of comic or something. I must say, you really do have lots of talent and the fact you never took classes or anything, I think that makes it even more amazing! Do you plan to study for it? or major in it in the future?

I can't say, it's very unique, i saw some artists on DA who draws somewhat alike, but i try to distinguish from others...
You're right, i'm working on a short comic story and already halfway through. You will see it probably in october)
Now i feel that not having a proper education in art is more of a shame for me. It's hard to improve the skills and the technique stays limited. I hope i will have time to take some classes, because, i think, growing is the most important thing in everything)

Yea, I guess so. But still, every artist, in my opinion, has a unique style. I mean some might look similar, but there is always something that you would prolly do differently from someone else Oh, and cool! XD
O.O oh... You think so? That is true :> but you grow as a artist with or without lessons you know. I mean no one can really teach you to draw, but they are helpful in finding things within your art and helping you grow as a artist. But that is just what I think. I mean I have seen many people grow as artist without lessons. I am not saying having lessons is bad though. Well, you still have time to right? Why not take it now? or perhaps soon?
mind if I ask if you are in high school? O.O you don't have to answer if you feel uncomfortable though.

I believe, you're right) when the artist is confidence and feels comfortable in his style, you can actually recognize his 'hand' easily.
Don't know.... i've been drawing a lot and at some point felt that i hit the top with what i could do on my own. There is always quite a gap between those who was taught fine arts and others... the first ones really take a big step forward in what and how they can draw. Even in simply drawing styles you can feel the confidence and variety.
Without schooling you can perfect the style, but won't be able to work beyond it...
A-and, no, i'm quite wrapped in other area, i'm a proud student)

I am glad you could understand what I meant, lol. I am not that good at explaining things.
Oh, okay than. Well I guess there are times when people have hit that wall too. :/ Yea, I guess I see what you mean.
I guess so, but there are people who can go far with their drawings even without schooling. The people who are able to see their flaws and who have high goals for themselves.
huh? what do you mean by others areas? Sorry, I am a but confused O.O

But after all, with or without study, you have to love what you're doing, especially with art)
Oh, my professional interest lies far from anything art related... anyway, for me drawing is more of a hobby now, but i hope one day i will make it my profession...

omg! you are so right with that, I agree with you so much on that ^ ^ I really do.
oh, okay then. Well I hope things go well for you, and if not, art will always be here for you, I mean you can make it a side career too if you wanted.

Really envy you!

Thank you, i think, it comes with practice (i started with cartoonish style, than changed to anime for several years, and than went back and forth...)
I actually like your style, you seem to be very confident in it. And i think it fits your mood well)

Thank you! Is the only way that I can be confident... ^^". My art was always like this. But sometimes I wish I could do different things, but I just can't do it. Is a little frustrating...

I understand that... For me it was always the problem of limited stuff i can paint. Like architecture or venicles - i don't feel very comfortable drawing them, here come the boudaries, hrr(
You can try copying other's, something you like. May be you will find something that helps you with your own style)

Wow, you amazed me yet again β with ability to change styles so completely and quickly.
All in all, I agree with your estimation in description. Ledroit-version should have a bit different form of face (elongated oval with strongly designated chin and cheekbones, realistic face) to be better associated with his manner. Disney, Marvel, Miyazaki, Dirge β just excellent. The main point here, I think, is to be able to recognize the style's influence in each view and you have managed to show it.
Of course, I like yours the best as your own style
