Has to be one of my fav scenes in the whole anime.. its so symbolic(* Title is based on the bible story of Judas and Jesus...not Lady Gaga XD*)

I agree... I don't like the pairing.
I can understand why a lot of people would take this scene the wrong way... But those people don't seem to fully understand the scene's true meaning; which is unfortunate because it's so symbolic.

And,yeah about the pairing thing..I'm really totally against this stupidity,I mean I think this is even an offense to L's character. A genius,totally isolated detective suddenly goes out in public showing himself to the person whom he suspected to be kira from the very beginning. L risked his life to capture the immature,insane good-looking Light Yagami. And now yaoi fans just blab about the silly pairing of Light and L. Honestly,I didn't like this scene,Light deserves a punch in the leg on his face,not a massage XDXD. I didn't actually like the whole episode. It's the episode of L's painful death. T_____T

I love it!! That's what I was thinking too when I 1st saw this scene in ep 25. Not to sound religious or anything but I notice that Death Note has a lot of Christian imagery.

It's more obvious on the manga than the anime. For example in the back cover of Death Note manga 13 there's a picture of Mello and Near with a bright sun in the background that looks exactly like The Lady of Guadelupe. Then in the manga she also has a saint statue in her room.

I like how you titled this Judas, relating it to the biblical story.. I thought the same thing when I first saw this in the other version, how it reminded me of Jesus washing Judas's feet before he betrayed him.
I don't like them as a pairing either, but the Cinderella scene in your other version of this still cracks me up, hahaha, especially their faces (L's in particular, haha

I get it now!!! When I saw this scene in the anime I just thought it was weird. But after seeing this I understand! Jesus washed Judas' feet right before Judas betrayed Jesus. And Jesus knew he was going to betray him. Light was betraying L. Did L know? This is great.

I get pairings like this as an "alternative character interpretation" exercise, its funny an interesting and I myself enjoy it, but it's a completely made up thing, utter and complete "what if". Sometimes romance and sex makes everything so much more fucked up, and that's is really something talking about Death Note. I actually don't "ship" things, but once I read a LightxL fanfic that it was so freaking dark, very Clarisse StarlingxHannibal.
So it always creeps me when people think that it's true as in totally happened, but then again, there are people that ship JesusXJudas for real, so you are bound to be creeped out either way!!

I think the picture is appropriately titled. Although, I didn't really connect it to a symbolism of Jesus and Judas, I can definitely see it. I also don't think that was supposed to be a yaoi moment in the series but more of a look into Light and L's characters. Light was the first real friend that L; however, I think L was fully aware that Light would kill him the first chance the latter got. And the fact that Light did do just that gives a deeper look into his dark, sadistic side. At least, that's what I got from it the first time I watched it. It was a scene that made me dislike Light all the more, and I felt really bad for L.

In the story of the Last Supper, Jesus washed the feet of his disciples as a servant would, showing his humility and symbolically treating them as his equals. Judas was one of his disciples, and he betrayed him the next morning, which is why Jesus was condemned to die at the cross.
It's a symbol of trust and betrayal.

Wow, I'm surprised to find you don't understand the pairing. Although, I'm curious to knows what creeps you out about them. For me there wasn't only clear unresolved sexual tension there was blatant flirtation with death, on the part of L.
He was a brilliant criminologist but he knew, for a fact, that Light was Kira. He knew it! I think after that his bringing Light in close, to the point of the above scene, was his getting a good look at his own death. Call it what you will, but I think he was infatuated with Light, obsessed even. And he was going to keep getting as close to Kira until Light was able to kill him.
If that's not masturbation, I don't know what is. It was sad for it to end, but it was hot getting there!
