Has to be one of my fav scenes in the whole anime.. its so symbolic(* Title is based on the bible story of Judas and Jesus...not Lady Gaga XD*)

Not bad. But, a detail bothers me: it is Judas who betrayed Jesus (and who washes his feet like all the other apostles) and in Death Note's Light betrayed L, not the reverse. So it should be Light who must washes the feet of L!

You got it all wrong. It is Jesus who washed all his disciples' feet before the Last Supper as sign of doing good with everyone, either if you're the master or the slave. After that, Jesus told them that he's going to be betrayed by one of his followers, which is Judas which he knew all along. Then Jesus told Judas to do what he's supposed to do to fulfill the scripture, which is to betray him, get him arrested and being crucified.
So in this context, L is Jesus, and Light is Judas.

I don't get this pairing either. In fact, I don't usually like yaoi because of the fangirls and when I saw this scene I thought about Jesus and Judas in the moment. Then all the fangirls started to talk about the "yaoi scene" and I was like wtf? but meh.

I don't usually interrupt these sorts of convos, but honestly there is nothing "pointlessly pornographic" about that scene, since Yaoi is literally "No climax, no point, no meaning" and is only a term for pointless pornographic malexmale content c:
This scene in itself had nothing to do with homoeroticism, and it's open to many interpretations (just not as homoerotic) but I personally took it as a scene that expresses the unsure relationship (as partners, enemies, sides of justice) between L and Light and the falsehood or truth to their trust, possibly makes an allusion to Judas and Jesus, and as foreshadowing of the imminent betrayal.

Oooooh the symbolism in this scene is so yummy, it made the fact that they made this episode basically a filler worth it. :'3 God just... EVERYTHING. All the awards for how beautiful the art is, all the awards to the people who wrote this episode, but yeah just... >>;; My cousin didn't get the symbolism AT ALL and started squealing about how cute they were and I was like, "GIRL THAT'S NOT CUTE, DON'T YOU READ THE BIBLE YOU WENT TO A CATHOLIC SCHOOL YOUR ENTIRE SCHOOL CAREER!!!" So I had to explain it to her. :/ I felt smart though, so I guess that's okay.

Wow, this is a breath-taking work of art. Icould stare at the amazing details you put into this. This is so beautiful! T.T *Cries* I miss my L so much. You have no idea. I think this picture captured the moment absoutley perfectly!^^ I don't see why some people thought this scene sybolized L and Light's 'special relationship' *Rolls eyes* They're not gay...*Sigh* This beautiful scene was suposed to depict what happened in the Bible when Jesus washed the feet of all his desciples including Judas who, in time would betray him. This scene in the anime was ment to show Light was not a god. Despite what some people that I know think, it is not saying that L is a god, but insted the one with pure intentions and a pure heart! In the book of John, Jesus washes the feet of his disciples, which includes Judas Iscariot, who would later betray him.
This scene here in Death Note is shortly before Light kills L.

I don't watch or read Death Note but after looking at your alternate version and then seeing this one I went and found the scene on youtube. I was not surprised about the amount of fangirling. But you are completely right about this scene it's not gay or some kind of yaoi/shounen-ai, it's a interpretation of when Jesus washes the feet of his disciples, even Judas', at the last supper, knowing that not only would he die tomorrow (or however long it took for him to die on the cross) but that Judas would be the one to betray him. I'm not a Death Note fan but I HAVE to give you props for not only your very nice art, but also for fully understanding the implications of the scene and likely the writers' intent.
