Description I'm back! And I bring forth more Puzzle Place fan art. The top two are Skye and Jody, and the bottom two are Julie and Leon. These sketches arose from the idea if that if I was given the chance to revive and revamp a show for the older set, I would use the Puzzle Place, one of my favorite PBS shows growing up (and I'll admit, it's one of my favorite shows even now, and I'm in college ). Instead of using puppets, though, I'd animate them and set them in high school (9th grade at least).
So reasons why I changed some things about them:
Skye- If you're a connoisseur of Puzzle Place like I am, there was an episode where Skye was fantasizing about being a rock star when he grew up. So I tried to make him look rock star-ish while still looking like a wholesome boy-next door. I also gave him a haircut. Really girly-looking hair, but it somehow seems to fit.
Julie-She seemed gossipy on the show, along with attempting to be fashionable, so I got rid of the 90s scrunchie, and added a green plastic necklace.
The rest weren't changed that much, just altered a bit to look older. Hope you enjoy.

awesome! PP was one of my all time favs growing up. loved Skye to death. i remember that episode when he was thinking about being a musician. i have it on VHS and i always played the Bruce Springsteen part for my mom when i had the chance. ♫I play just like Bruce I play fast and loose and I was 'Born in the USA'♫ hahaha

I liked the flower in jody's hair but this is good that you got rid of the pink shirt and replaced it w/ green.

PUZZLE PLACE!!! I loved this show when i was little! and now it's like...GONE...from the face of EVERYTHING! none of my friends remember it...neither does my brother and i KNOW he watched it as much as i did because he did everything i did back then...only thing wrong here is Leon is cuter than Skye. Now, if I am like most of the girls out there who watched this show, we all know Skye was the greatest. but...great fan art!

yes, you're like most girls. Skye was the greatest and best looking. If you think I made Leon cuter than Skye, I've got some more Skye drawings that might be up your alley

Aww.. I remember those children all too well. I this is the first time that i seen the PP fanart. It's very nice to bring it. I used to play with them when I was a kid. In fact, I made up some bad guys for it.

Ohhhhhhh myyyyyyyy gooooosssshhhhh…… PUZZLE PLACE fanart??!! On Deviantart??!! On the *Internet*??!! At long, long, last!! ( of joy)

I applaud you tremendously…for not only being one of six people left on the planet who still actually remembers the Puzzle Place show, and for not only being a fan of the show, but mostly for even *attempting* to draw the kids in the first place! For that mere reason alone, I’m automatically faving this pic, and also the Ben & Kiki pic. I used to search several times for Puzzle Place fanart here on Deviantart…but never found anything. You’re probably the only person in all of DA who has done Puzzle Place fanart. You should be very proud of yourself. The drawings are nicely done and colored…they are interesting renditions of how you think they might look as teenagers. May I say for the record that I like Julie’s scrunchie! But LOL, that’s okay that you didn’t draw it in your pic. Perhaps she wouldn’t wear it anymore once she became a teenager? LOL, who knows. Anyways, it’s still a nice picture.

I was a super-huge fan of Puzzle Place back in the day. I’m a true-blue JULIE fan!! I still have my Julie plush doll, and also the little figurine of her and her puzzle-shaped mini house. (One of my brothers used to have a plush Ben doll…although Leon was his favorite character, but we were never able to find any Leon dolls at the stores, so he just settled with Ben instead.)

And good crikey alive…I, too, have thought about the kids being revived and having an animated series instead of puppet series! (Great minds think alike! ) Although, unlike your idea, I would SO much rather keep them as kids than turn them into teens (I’m soooooo friggin’ sick and tired of teen stories…just my humble viewpoint on that). In my envisioning, I’ve thought about the kids being a team of kid superheroes. I even have a title idea for the cartoon (or anime?): Puzzle Place Panic, or Puzzle Panic.

Nice drawings again, and a great high-five from one Puzzle Place fan to another! You should do more in the future if you can! Maybe you can even attempt Sizzle, Nuzzle, or the Piece Police if you want. You can note me or something if you ever want to share endless Puzzle Place stories and whatnot with me!

Like I mentioned before, I love how you've mixed realistic style and their puppet features

Nice job on the perspective with the necklace and the shadows on Leon's face and neck. What medium did you use to color these wonderful characters?

I don't know PBS is sort of going to pot now, children-show wise. I just learned yesterday that Ghostwriter, one of my favorite shows growing up, was cancelled-not because of lack of an audience, but because of a lack of funding. And Nike was funding it at one time! They have enough money to fund a show! And viewers must have not sent anything in either. But it made me really mad. *sigh* poor nostalgia...
