Nope, just a natural shift I guess. It's not so much 'blame' either, as I'm not trying to diminish the importance of technology. I guess you could turn it around, and blame the lack of technology on people being religious. (I'm an aetheist).

It's more of an objective comment I guess, not so much a criticism. In a way it's both good and bad. I'm an aetheist and I love technology haha.

Not really. Modern interpretations of Gods are pretty common. Plus, your media is more ancient God-like, while Gaiman's Media is... freaky. Really freaky.

yeah, people have become very attached to these types of objects.
it seems western society has driven itself in the direction of mostly believing in things that are tangible, versus any level of spirituality.
and even tho it's not completely replaced, it is fast becoming that way.
it is a very empty, self centered, unhealthy,
down spiraling, cycle...
but i have hope that we will come to our senses, or at least
find a healthy balance.
