Princess Twilight Sparkle - Trans Female (She/Her) // Bisexual
((Partner: Captain Tempest Shadow (Fizzlepop Berrytwist Sparkle) [DECEASED], Princess Luna Sparkle))

:bademoticon: Born as “Dusk Sparkle.” She now serves as a positive role model for young fillies and colts struggling with their identities throughout the chaos that is growing up trans. She even rebuilt Golden Oaks Library to temporarily house trans/gay youths cast out by their families (seeing as Luna wouldn’t let her adopt them all into their family permanently... whoops).
:bademoticon: Rarely ever wears her “Princess” crown; the status makes her a tad uncomfortable, and chooses not to appear to the public as “regal and royal” when all she wants is to be treated like a normal pony by her peers. Sometimes she even wishes she was never turned into an Alicorn in the first place... Having an entire nation’s eyes on you at all sure does a number on a pony’s mental stability, that’s for sure. Though she wouldn’t trade in her privileged lifestyle for all the bits in Equestria, things do tend to get a bit, say, nerve wracking even after years of immense training and practice.
:bademoticon: Started having a crush on her future wife (Princess Luna) around the time of S2:E4 “Luna Eclipsed.” This soon subsided after getting together with her first wife Tempest Shadow, though after her passing the grieving widow slowly rekindled her love for the Princess of the Night.
Of course Spike teased her relentlessly for this. She trips over her own hooves trying to navigate each lovesick school-mare crush X,D
:bademoticon: Has struggled with a form of Generalized Anxiety Disorder since fillyhood; her and Fluttershy helped each other develop healthy coping mechanisms over the years. She does still have her moments (being an official “public authority figure” in Equestria never ceases to cause her intense worry and stress), though fidgeting with her wedding ring certainly does help - D’awww~

Rainbow Dash Pie - Agender (They/Them) // Pansexual
((Partner: Pinkamena Diane Pie))

Retired Wonderbolt; now teaches future trainees how to achieve their dreams of obtaining a similar position. Rainbow sees a bit of themselves in every aspiring Wonderbolt, which is precisely why they love their job so much. That, and their afraid one of their students may end up “Washing Out” as their ongoing rival, Lightning Dust, puts it... The last thing Dash needs is a possible “accident” weighting down their conscience.
Their adopted sibling, Scootaloo, realized he was trans soon after graduating grade school. Rainbow and their wife, Pinkie Pie, ended up raising enough funds through a Wonderbolts-sponsored bake sale for him to transition entirely.* It was during this time that they realized they were agender; Scoots has been supporting them ever since, and vise-versa. Because what’s more wholesome than discovering your identity and self-worth while simultaneously finding time to help your older sibling accept theirs as well?
Has a soft spot for spa days, even visiting with Rarity every once and a while to get their hooves done. What? Athletes can enjoy a nice hoof-i-cure every once and a while, damn it. It took Rainbow quite a while to loosen up enough for this, but eventually they even began letting the Spa Twins massage their wings after a particularly rough day on the job.
Surprisingly close friends with the dragons of Spike’s former nesting grounds. After finding a spell capable of shielding a pony from the dangers of lava, Rainbow began going lava surfing with their new scaly-friends every other weekend. Ember’s a pretty cool gal (and Thorax does get along quite well with Pinkie, which is also a huge plus).

*In Equestria, surgery isn’t exactly necessary for transitioning, seeing as there are plenty of complicated spells that can do the job in a fraction of the time it would take a doctor/surgeon. Problem is, this type of magic is normally so incredibly draining for the caster that they often charge a pricey fee as compensation. In addition, only certain unicorns specially trained in the field of gender-reassignment are able to preform the spell(s) accurately.

Pinkamena Diane Pie - Cisgender Female (She/Her) // Pansexual
((Partner: Princess Skystar Breeze [DIVORCED], Rainbow Dash Pie))

Mr. and Mrs. Cake are her biological parents, though they had her when they were only young, naive teens unfit to care for a child on their own. Igneous Rock and Cloudy Quartz offered to adopt her from them, with the promise that she’d one day be reunited with her “real” parents once she’d grown. The Cakes jumped at the opportunity to house Pinkie when she’d decided to move to Ponyville, though, even now... she doesn’t know they’re related to her. They weren’t listed as being her birth mother and father in the Pie family archives (Igneous and Cloudy were afraid she’d find the scrolls and learn at an unfit age of her biological kin).

Someday... Someday the time will be right. Hopefully by then it won’t be too late.

It was difficult coming face-to-face with Silverstream once the School of Friendship had opened, seeing as she reminded the pink pony of her then-wife, Princess Skystar. Silverstream doesn’t know this (the marriage pact between the two was kept secure from the public eye by order of Queen Novo herself) and often wonders what she did wrong to warrant being ignored by the Element of Laughter herself. She’d always looked up to Pinkie for her cheerful optimism even in the darkest of times, though now she’s not so sure...
Distant penpals with Minuete, who enjoys spilling some good ol’ juicy Canterlot gossip and obscure baking tips (her side hobby). Pinkie often uses these recipes to bake healthy sweets for Rainbow and their fellow Wonderbolts companions.
One of Pinkie’s diiiiistant relatives was a “proxy” of Discord’s, and, as a gift for they’re devout obedience and loyalty to him, they were granted a bit of Chaos Magic, which was then passed down to Pinkie over the family lineage.

((Partner: Applejack Macintosh Apple))

Instead of having a “petty” fear of getting her hooves dirty (‘ooo the prissy pony doesn’t like dirt hardy-har-har’) Rarity is, in my AU, a full-on Germaphobe. She’s struggled with the possibility of contracting something, anything from the things she touches since fillihood. Later on in her life, once she’d settled down with Applejack and their soon-to-be daughter, the anxious mare finally fessed up about her anxieties and (because they literally live on a farm and Applejack was afraid she’d end up hyperventilating herself to death) was sent to the closest therapist around: Treehugger. After months of gradual exposure to the elements, Rarity was finally able to overcome her fear of germs/dirt and even began taking up gardening as a minor side-hobby alongside her godchild, Honeycomb.
Began a line of clothing centered around supporting transgender youths and their varying body types. Normal “stallion” or “mare” -fitted outfits rarely came in sizes able to accommodate those in transition, and because of this (along with her personal experience as a trans mare) Rarity sought out more convenient and affordable alternatives instead.
Actually quite talented when it comes to using her magic. She’s borrowed a book or two from Twilight (and is totally not at all envious of her abilities, no-sir-ee) on how to branch out past her medium and actually managed to cast a couple advanced spells that surprised even the Princess of Friendship herself. “Never question a pony’s potential,” is her life motto.

Has a secret passion for teaching, and enjoys subbing as often as she can at the School of Friendship. The students love recieving lessons from their favorite sassy substitute, and Rarity is equally as thrilled to be the one giving them. (Side Note: If you bully one of her pupils, she’ll go full-on Momma-Mare Mode™).

Applejack Macintosh Apple - Genderqueer (She/They) // Lesbian
((Partner: Rarity Belle Apple))

Contrary to the show’s odd contradictions (i.e. the numerous replacements/refurbishments of the supposedly “sacred” garment over the years), Applejack has worn the same hat her father gave her ever since his untimely passing* many moons ago. One evening, after a long day working on the farm with Big Macintosh, she came home to find Rarity (along with her four-year-old daughter, Marmalade) sitting proudly at the kitchen with a quaint little box sat in front of them. Upon opening the gift, AJ was delighted to find her prized hat (which had allegedly gone “missing” some time ago) stitched to perfection in addition to a single hand-made sunflower garnishing the hem. Yes, that was most certainly Marmalade’s own personal touch.

Like her mother, AJ is a highly skilled guitarist who secretly had a knack for all things instrumental. She, to this day, will occasionally slip out the ol’ thing and strike up a few cords by the campfire (to the sheer delight of her family, who love to sing along).

An incredibly skilled business-pony; responsible for most of the heavy-duty transactions at Sweet Apple Acres. She can bargain like no other, and has been known to close more deals than even Filthy Rich himself!

Probably the strongest, most Apple-JACKED pony in all of Ponyville. Seriously, even her own brother claims that she’s probably stronger than him in some capacity. She could probably buck a sturdy tree to the ground from the root up. Don’t challenge her to an arm-wresting competition; Bulk Biceps made a similar mistake during one of the Mane Six’s monthly reunions, and let’s just say his arm had to be put in a sling for multiple weeks afterwords.

*There was a fire at Sweet Apple Acres soon after Applebloom’s birth, which ended up claiming the lives of AJ’s parents during their valiant effort to protect their children (as well as Granny Smith). There still remains a large singed portion of the orchards that was never truly rehabilitated during the reconstruction of the property... The Apple Clan hasn’t yet trekked out that far since the accident, and they most likely never will.

Fluttershy - Cisgender Female (She/Her) // Pansexual
((Partner: Bulk Biceps Shy))

Took up a degree in counseling for the School of Friendship, and oftentimes works as an mental help coach (along with her best friend, Treehugger) to provide valuable and affordable resources for her pupils whenever needed. Coming from a fairly poor background (though idk if this translates to Canon or not), Fluttershy spent years yearning for a lifeline that never came... until she stumbled upon the rest of the Mane Six, that is. As an adult, she strives to support any and all struggling students with their fears and anxieties, no matter their financial situation.

“A positive mindset is priceless, and should thus be treated as such,” as she puts it.
She rarely uses her wings (due to a combination of Acrophobia* as well as a janky wingspan that rarely works in her favor) and, as a result, she can hardly lift herself off the ground anymore. After all, practically all of her equine-and-non-equine friends live beneath the clouds, so why go through all the trouble of “flying” when you can just,,, walk??? That’s what she believes, at least.
Occasionally provides backup vocals for the Pony Tones (minus the whole “Flutter-guy” debacle) and can often be heard practically duets with Big Macintosh on her weekly visits to Sweet Apple Acres. Sugar Belle is a total sap for cheesy sing-a-longs, and usually breaks up the pair with her loud, dramatic sobbing. She isn’t jealous of their relationship or anything, just a sucker for the Arts.
Are those... fangs? Maybe the remains of Flutter’s encounter with the Vampire Fruit Bats left a bigger imprint on her physical form than one might assume ; )

Starlight is what is known as an “Artificial Alicorn.” After never truly forgiving herself for her past misdeeds, she turned down the opportunity to possibly become a Princess of her own in the near future. As an alternative, Celestia gave her a spell which would grant her magically-manifested wings that could be controlled exactly like any other. Seeing as she was one of the most powerful unicorns Celestia had ever seen, Starlight quickly caught on to the ins and outs of her new detachable appendages.

Hosts a “Dragon Pit” game night every other weekend at Twilight’s castle. Trixie, Sunburst, Maud, and Moondancer (who just so happened to also have been a fan as a young filly) are the other members of this exclusive nerdy bunch. Maud wins almost every time. How, exactly, they have no clue.

First met with Moondancer after Twilight (AKA Equestria’s biggest shipper lmao) set the pair up on a mystery date. She noticed the two had similar pasts involving abandonment issues, social anxiety, and a passion for magic and classic literature. After months of dancing around their feelings for one another, the two flustered dorks finally got together. Now everypony has to put up with their lovey-dovey affection and mushy PDA wherever they go. They are 100%, Celestia-approved, hopeless romantics.

She likes kites. She likes making kites. She likes flying kites. Just... Kites. One night, a tipsy Starlight told Moondancer, “Imma gonna quit ma job an’ open a kite museum. Is’ gonna be so cool. We’re gonna be rich, Moony!” Moondancer got the whole exchange on video.
