Description
Ah yeah, Honey I Shrunk The Kids! I'll be honest, wasn't the biggest fan of the movies. Mainly because they focused primarily on growth and shrinking, but I enjoyed the series more because it really went all out on its sci-fi concepts. This is by far my favorite episode: "Honey, I have Nine Lives!" In this episode, Diane is body-swapped with Bianca (the villain of this episode)'s cat. Wayne is also body-swapped with the family dog and there's a scene where everyone gets swapped around! At the end, Bianca and her cat remain swapped. Though when she returns next, she's back in her own body! It's a shame too, because I would've liked if the cat remained in her body and acted as the villain in her only appearance after this. Honestly, this is a really fun body-swap episode. I usually can't stand body-swap episodes that have people swapping places with animals in live-action. I love animal-to-human swaps normally, but live-action versions of them tend to feel so forced and dumb. In this one, they did a really good job of showing how a cat in a human body would interact with other humans. It shows her watching TV and trying to get to understand humans better. It honestly really works and makes it an awesome body-swap episode as a result!
It's not too surprising, considering how good of a sci-fi kids show this series is. So, whatever happened to Bianca's Cat? Well... She swapped bodies with me and stole me body! Now I'm cat, mreow! :C Darn cats, always stealing my hot monkey bod!

I ended up watching this last night, was honestly surprised by this being twice as long as most TV show episodes but I feel it really helped the pacing. And oh my gosh, the cat Persephone gradually learning to speak was such a unique touch.

Yeah it was great and surprisingly solid for a body-swap episode! The length definitely helps it.

Are we sureΒ they were swapped back, though? Or did the cat learn enough from the aforementioned television binge to pass for her owner?

I'm sure they swapped back, since Bianca's Cat was a lot more well-natured than Bianca, so it wouldn't make sense for her to be a villain in Bianca's body.

This was the first episode I ever saw of this show and I loved it...! Too bad they rarely ran it after that.
Have you ever noticed that kid shows tended to run certain sets of episodes repeatedly during βnormalβ time slots whereas the transformation/swap episodes seemed to run during late night/early morning time slots? Or was it just me?

I actually never noticed that. I never bothered to look at the times when they aired episodes. And yeah, I loved the ep too.
