Yes! It is a big ol' flat toad that kinda looks like a slightly bloated leaf in the water. There is a cool YouTube you should watch that shows how the baby toads emerge from their mother's back as tiny, full-formed toadlets. It's pretty cool!

Oh my gosh! That is my favorite thing about these animals! I love that those little toadlettes (official scientific term btw) come out after they have incubated in the females back. So cool!

They are super cool. I love toads and frogs and when I was in 4th grade I dumped a bucket of both in my mother's bathtub after a successful evening of amphibian gathering. I never heard a scream so loud after she walked into her bathroom and saw my handiwork. I was pretty proud of myself too.
