Description The main characters of Phantasy Star, for Sega Master System. By far, my favorite game ever, and there is no discussion.

I played it for the first time in 1991, and since then I became a PS fanatic. But it took 8 years to know PSIII, IV and II (in that order), and later the Game Gear ones. I kinda lost the track when PSO was launched, and because I was too behind in technology (cheap PCs and no console since my Mega Drive), I fell behind. I have no regrets, as Sonic Team has made something that pisses me off, that is just throwing away a 4 game saga (that was just what made PS different from any other RPG series) to sell their mmo gimmicks to the largest crowd as possible. Yeah, that's business, but I don't need to like it.

Anyway, one thing that I like from PSO, PSU and PS0 is the original artwork style. Very different from the typical manga-ish styles from the old games, but somehow I found it very nice. Probably because my first impression of the sexy short haired HUnewearl from the first PSO :^P

And then, they released of PSI and II for Playstation 2. Yay... but they wont release it outside Japan until they finish the PSIV remake, which is VERY unlikely by now. And by "remake", they also meant an adaptation of the original character designs to the current PSO-ish art style. In some cases it sucked, as with the Vanilla Ice look-alike Odin/Tyrone and by giving emo hair to everyone else. But one thing I did like: Alis was now portraited with high heels. That single detail (which caused some weird debates over the PS communities on the net) caught my eye. So I adapted it to a more traditional Alis look in my drawing, which I loosely based on one of the conceptual sketches from the PS Compendium (one with articulated body armor instead of a single piece one). I took the risk to do shadows and light with my mouse, and it didn't look so bad. I regret only my total inability at drawing hands.

Yes, all this babbling talk was about Alis' heels :^P

I love this! I think Odin is my favorite here, as he looks so appropriately...chisled. He's a nice contrast to Noah, who looks far more delicate, yet still masculine (which sucks if he really was a woman ). Great work!

Ah yes. SO much nostalgia

Long live the original Phantasy Star!

Actually, as I understand it, PSO is still a part of the original series... 'cept WAY into the future.
