I like the guy's escheresque rendering technique, its something I used to do a lot (back when I still had the patience for that kind of stuff xP).

I feel sad not feeling 100% certain I know who this character is, but dang, you can definitely feel an emotion of "pondering" or being lost in thought in this image. Great work with capturing the mood.
