Thanks so much! I am always amazed to hear my art can inspire people! Funny that you'd comment this on a two year old sketch actually- I daresay I have improved quite a bit since this

Oh my god, the perspective on this one. If I were a person who gets motion sick, this picture would sicken me. (That's a compliment!) Also, I just kind of adore Toothless's right wing. A lot. I love so much the way you've captured the wing as a part of his actual body; I love in the movies how he holds them, and I think this is possibly the first time I've ever seen the folded wing done well.

Okay, this perspective was actually something I was proud of... because I attempted to "bend" the plane of the sea... giving it a sort of "fish-eye" look... Guess it worked out hah :>
I actually used reference for the one wing ... funnily enough but thank you C:

I can barely draw stick figures that are recognizable as human without reference. Be proud. It's great.

Sry, wrong link ^^ This is the actual one.
At the moment I actually am pretty proud of what I can do. All these people from around here claim that they're frustrated because they are unsatisfied with what they can do. And I'm not... Well, I am struggling too find out how to draw consistant characters, that's incredibly tough to me somehow... But to be fair I really love the way I draw. Propably because it's heavily inspired by a few veeery awesome people from around here (What I mean ba that can be seen in these sketches. Β They are a bit older though... I've already drawn a lot since then :V

I find that really admirable, actually. Many writers struggle with the same problem - there's in fact a pretty common feeling in the writerly circles that if you don't think your work is terrible, you're not worth anything as a writer. While I definitely think that about some of my earlier work (um, middle school was not a hotbed of creativity), there is much that I revisit secretly because it gives me the same pleasure I get when reading fanfiction - comfort and joy and some sense of not-aloneness.
While I can't think of whom I'm thinking of at the moment, there's some famous British poet who, after reaching a certain point in his poetry, ceased writing. He felt he'd expressed and accomplished everything he needed to, and finished. This is of course extremely abnormal for people to leave their beloved crafts, but it's an exaggerated version of the maturity I think being proud of your own work is.

Dunnow, I am actually not that much into fanfiction... I only ever read one, it was called "Nightfall" (you might know it actually) but it's reaaaally great Β°^Β°
I couldn't imagine quitting drawing, it's what I love to do most, really. I draw every single day, whenever I have a minute worth of time, and am not at the computer xD, I spend that time drawing. It's funny, though... I always think about mastery when it comes to drawing... We as artists are always straying to get better and better, but if I'd really achieve mastery one day, I'm not even sure if I would like that... I mean, isn't that the reason I drew all the time? To get better?

Haha, fanfiction was the gateway into the internet for me, really. I actually have heard of it - I looked into the first chapter and was astonished to see it appeared well-written! (Most of the overdone AUs - modern AUs, Hiccup-leaves-Berk AU, Hiccup-goes-with-Valka AU are TERRIBLE). I'll have to add it to my list.
I know, right? I doubt I can ever have a piece I can be completely proud of, but that just means there's more joy in the getting there for me. Really? I write because I love it, not particularly to get better at writing (although that's a nice side effect).

I can tell you it's really spectacular, and really heartaching, too! To be perfectly honest it's quite tough to get me into stories but this one handles it's characters really really well.
Huh. That's always been the main motivation for me to draw...

I'll definitely read it then! Do you like regular books?
Wow. That's so different! You want to get better at drawing, and that's why you do it, and you came to love it in the process?

I do, but again, it's quite hard for me to get into one... But when I read a reallyΒ good book I get really involved, and I do enjoy it a lot :3
Don't actually know what started it for me... But it began really early, I guess I just started drawing, uh, better than the people around me, and from there it just went on hahah
But this whole motivation thing didn't come to me until recently.
