Description
Its amazing what two and a half years of passionate learning can do. The top drawing is my very first uploaded werewolf drawing here on DA. And because the new one also has cliffs and a full moon in the background I thought it would be appropriate to do a little comparison between the two.Since the first image I learned a bunch about anatomy (both wolven and human LOL), gesture and composition, but most drastically, I learned how to paint digitally. What do you guys think?

Indeed. I moved away from pure black and white mostly, and I started out doing digital work. That definitely influenced the way I approach drawing and art in general.

I really love the B/W drawing from 2015. Colors are nice, no question. But to build up some very intense feeling of danger (which seems to fit werewoofs well) the confining and intimidating semblance of B/W seems to be a bit better. At least that works for me. I'm much more afraid of a B/W picture than by colors. But well, maybe that is just me. Who knows. Anyway, the second drawing also has its charm, that is for sure. I love the blood particles.

That's true! I am not actually sure if that's what I was going for in that one, otherwise I propably would've tried going for these vibes in the new one aswell. Now this one here definitely made use of the crassness of inked drawing to achieve exactly what you meant. And the red sprinkles here and there didn't hurt either. x3

Oh my, that drawing you linked there is pretty amazing. Horror at its best. It reminds me a lot of the art-style of the movie Sin City. You probably know that one, do you?

I havent seen sin city, but i know the artstyle, and yes it looks very similar! Though that was definitely not on purpose xD

Me too! I used to do hyper rendered pencil drawings back in the day when I started out here. There's some drawings from that era in my gallery if you scroll all the way back

That is amazing! Two years really do make a difference. Keep it up. Hope I can be at your level someday.

Thanks! Two years of constant drawing definitely do that. And sure you can be at my level! You simply have to draw everyday and absorb anything you learn about drawing, or art in general. I feel like internalizing art discourse and just generally thinking about art goes a long way in learning to draw well.
