Description
In late Cretaceous Mongolia, around 70-65 million years ago, a pair of female Halszkaraptor escuilliei, waterfowl-like dromaeosaurid dinosaurs, paddle around the lake they have come across. They are built for an amphibious lifestyle, but when living in the heated Gobi desert, water can be hard to come by. Fortunately, this oasis has provided them with enough water to frolick in. But they suddenly realize they're not alone.Sitting on the shore is a male of the same species, easily distinguishable by his brighter coloration, meant for attracting mates. He is looking for a partner, but things haven't started very well - being spotted in such a way does not make the best first impression. The females, perplexed, stop and stare at their observer, unsure of how to react.
In the waters below, tiny fish dart about, with a few freshwater snakes striking at them. Meanwhile, dark clouds slowly gather in the sky, signaling an incoming rainstorm.
This artpiece isn't my favorite, and was actually made quite some time ago, I just forgot to post it lol
