Description
Here is a picture of my Father from 1952. This was taken in Hokkaido, Japan during the Korean War.The next couple of photos of Japan were taken by him and run through Photoshop by me for restoration. No easy task!
Anyway, here he is. This is a man that I hated growing up and even tried to kill....but now, I have more respect and love for him than he could even fathom!!!
He retired a Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Army.

He looks so terribly young. It's a shame the age most of those men were when they were forced (or not) to go to war. The look on his face says a lot, too. Great shot of him.

Wonder what he thought of you.
And I wonder..if he _was_ you..when this photo was taken.
I see just a boy here. Interesting, how that works, huh?
Interesting, also how people saw you on my web and figured I had some agenda. Nupe. you are Clint's friend. It starts and ends there, yanno? I am curious about people. It's cool to consider you mean nothing to me. *grin* In that way, I mean. Just yapping. Heh.
Weird, huh?
Mom was my menace. Nothing extreme. But she was sad. And smoked. And drank a tad, when I was young. My dad was there for me though. It all worked out in the end.
She died, oh, couple years back. Cigs and shit, I imagine. My brother Tom, took my dad, who has Alzheimer's, in--for a while. I've recently talked to my idiot older brother (been talking to Tom, through all this weirdness, his AND mine; my dad came out with Tom last December. I imagine it'll be the last time, really. (No, I'm not sad. Just stating a pont here.) Tom's been a great help to me.) I'm all sorted out, these days. Okay, the emotional shit, I mean. Heh.
Family. The shit it pulls you through, for a good long while, huh? Hope you're pulling through yours, okay, whoo boy.
H, always too damn open. But this is just shit details, yanno? The game is in way you are, not the way you were.
Even if the way you were, was yesterday. Yanno?

wow this is great, my dad was a marine in the vietnam war went on three tours during war time, came back alive to later shoot off his thumb with the same gun and set some agent orange into his system, where it activated his cancer cells and he died a few years later. I was three months old when he passed. Your pictures are very interesting to view, and I especially like this one.
great works...

Wow...it's fascinating to see our mum's and dad's photos from the old days, especially ones from special events in history, like a war...you can see the weariness in his face, like he's seen too much.
Whoever shot the photo had good photographic skills, im my opinion.

I think it's incredibly cool to have a picture this old, especially of your father. What did you have to do to restore it?

There were a few tears here and there, some overexposure, and some blurred spots. This is just half of the photo. Didn't know the other guy, so I didn't restore him

My father had applied for the Korean war too. Something came in between and he couldn't go though. If he did and something happened to him, perhaps I'd not exist today

Photos like that have so much sentimental value and it might also costs quite a lot of money if you tried selling it.
Very interesting photo....glad you shared some interesting stuff about your family.

Do I dare ask why and how you tried to kill him? His eyes look so far off, perfect look of a man in war.
