All the elements of the background and foreground work together to create a polished and dramatic result. The mountains move up working with the motion of the clouds. The soft pastel colors make objects both appear closer and farther than they appear which is intriguing.
There is enough activity in this piece to focus on different areas at different times, and by taking a second look.
The stars in the upper right-hand corner could have been emphasized more, with the darker blue pulled in towards the clouds for their background.
That's just a personal opinion, of course, and it is absolutely amazing how it already is.
