#1 Allactite : This rare mineral is known for strong pleochromism - in other words, it appears to be different colors from different angles. In this case, deep cranberry red from one angle and nearly transparent from another. This gem is unpredictable and quiet. They tend to keep to themself and avoid conflict; and are a skilled shapeshifter. (Allactite comes from the greek allaktein, meaning to change)

#2 Charoite : Tall jazz mom. The stone was only recently discovered, in 1978, and was at first thought to be synthetic because of its unusual intensity and beauty. She plays the saxophone and speaks her mind. She's energetic and full of life, but can come off as a bit overbearing because of this.

#3 Clinohumite : Classy yellow mom. Intelligent and warm, she's an exceptionally rare gem. She will not hesitate to tell you what she thinks, and she'll do so in an eloquent, concise manner. Ill-suited to fighting, she's more at home as an advisor or even a leader.

#4 Dendritic Chalcedony : Big earth mom. Large, kind, and a bit clumsy, she has little experience but a big heart. Likes gardening, a little bit nervous about meeting humans. She's afraid she'll hurt them on accident. Friendly, very talkative - you'll be lucky to get a word in edgewise.

#5 Indicolite : Indicolite, the rarest form of Tourmaline, is said to help with speech impediments; and so because I have a cruel sense of irony I decided to design a gem who couldn't speak. She communicates through sign language, and has uncontrollable electricity powers. (Indicolite becomes electrically charged when heated.)

#6 Kornerupine : A small, eloquent gem; Kornerupine is enigmatic and calm. She has a good sense of how to get to the root of a problem, and has a knack for getting others to open up to her. Can be quite manipulative. It's difficult to know exactly what her opinion is.

#7 Langite : Blue mom. I'll be honest - I have no idea what she's like. She could be anything.

#8 Laurionite : This one, on the other hand... Laurionite is lead halite. In other words, a crystal formed from lead and salt. Lead is a powerful neurotoxin. This poor Laurionite can't quite remember how to form herself properly. She isn't corrupt, but she isn't exactly sane either. She'll fight if threatened, and can induce temporary hallucinations by biting another gem; but she doesn't seem to want to fight. She tries hard to communicate, but has difficulty speaking. Sometimes she runs off for no apparent reason, and may forget where she came from when she does.

#9 Niedermayrite : I don't know why I felt compelled to make his gem his hair. I also don't know why I feel compelled to consider him a 'he', when I put him in a skirt. But I do know that I like the result.

#10 Sarabauite : Smol winter mom. She's heard that humans aren't as resistant to the cold, and so she will force you to wear excessive amounts of clothing. She means well.
