Have some more vague worldbuilding >:]
Say hello to 3-point, a very large and socially dominant hyena matriarch. (pictured beside her is her fully grown mate for size comparison, he is from a smaller sub-species but she is still pretty big.) 3- point isn't her real name, she was labelled as such by neighboring clans for her method of hunting and expelling intruders, 'cause 3- point doesn't just go for whatever limb is nearest oh no she aims for 3 spots; the back of the head, the neck, and the spine and as a result survivors of her attacks often sport very noticeable and precise bite marks. Her ruthlessness and intolerance of outsiders are what have enabled her and her clan to carve out a massive chunk of territory and to resist being intimidated by local lion populations. And so they enjoy a relatively unbothered existence.....or so it would seem to outsiders but the truth is that 3-point's clan fear her, and cower in her very presence, she has no off switch and so EVERYONE is eligible for punishment from her jaws. Over the years she has subdued any objections of her rule by making gruesome examples of all those who so much as dared to question her authority and decisions and because of this no one ever really tried getting close to her (except her mother who had been very much like 3 in her prime) so she was at the top...but she was there alone.

That was until she found a rare sandy* which she took in as more of a trophy for his rarity than a clanmate.
(i'll go more into depth about the circumstances of their first meeting and their dynamic in another deviation.)

*sandy lore: A subspecies of hyena who because of their small size were pushed out of prime territory by larger predators, all that was left to them were arid desert areas which they made their home and adapted to. Most have tan or very lightly coloured fur and a lack of spots which allows them to better blend into the monotone grassless lands. Despite all their adaptations however, competition and worsening weather made their numbers dwindle and they became very rare. Other hyena species are usually tolerant of of the sandies due to their harmless nature but they continued to die out more and more with each dry season until seeing one became as common as albino lions.

Additional notes: she or any of the other characters mentioned are in no way affiliated with, related to or inspired by the lion king universe, the tags are just because i think my ideas will appeal to a similar audience.
