Description Just a little help to learn a simple mountain painting:

Step 1: Paint the fill of the mountain. Just to know it's shape.
Step 2: Put the lightest part with another color. It will show, from which part will the light come.
Step 3: Draw the most important outlines and some cracks. It's up on you how much would you like... ( lines should be 4pt and 2 pt weight )
Step 4: Put some darker shadings on the darker parts. ( use the layer on 15% opacity )
Step 5: Put another layer with a darker shading on the darkest parts ( also on 15% opacity with the same color )
Step 6: Put the lightest parts with white color on 30% opacity.
Step 7: Final step... Put a little contrast with the Curves menu. It will look more real.

I just learned and I wanted to share with others too...
I hope it will be helpful

This is by far the best I've found. I needed to ask one question though. Why make another layer for more darker shading in step 5?

Thank you And about step 5. : You need that darker layer because it will look more realistic. Without it, it's also good, just a bit looks like it would be in mist...
