PLEASE full view!As the title says, this is a reference for yet another Vampire Wraith character of mine: Lanthane. He's a shadow hunter, and has to be able to fight and catch the shades in both Spectral and Material realms where those ones exist. Unfortunately, shades ain't no energy source and ca't be eaten (So Lan feeds on human souls as well), but they can be kept captive (like in that bottle thingie) and used afterwards as guerds of gates, keys, weapons, ect.
I must admit the shading here was that of some speed-art
yeah, I didnét feel like spending hours on it for just a reference. But I've wasted so much time on choosing the colors 
So I actually like how it turned out, he's kinda hot for a wraith, isn't he? 
Would you like to see some more piccies of him?
What else...I'll post something more precise about the Vampire Wraith race later on

This is a lovely char design and I especially like the costume concept. Very nicely done and well executed.
Though, please don't get me wrong now but this looses me a bit and so I have to pose a question. You say that these creatures are supposed to be LoK ancient vampire wraiths, even the same 'species' as Raziel. If so, how come you claim copyright for the 'species' if it's apparently based on the ones from Eidos?

In fact I am - well - expanding the Lok universe. The vampire wraiths - the real ones, that you can find in Soul Reaver 1 do not look like this at all. And they are not ancients. And Raziel isn't an ancient vampire though he is a vampire wraith...and he is supposed to be a Hylden too, isn't he?. The only ancient we actually see in LoK (janos Audron) isn't a wraith. So I dunno why wouldn't I claim the rights of this species design. It's part of Lok universe of ccurse, but it's still mine...
I mean, it's not fan art. Nor it is wholly an original. so I dunno how to call it

Er no, Raziel's not a Hylden. At least not that I know o.O Actually he bears mostly the traits of the ancients, be it the blue skin, the three fingers, his cloven feet or his wings. All traits by the way that your species has as well. Though i don't want to argue char designs with you. It just surprises me that someone would claim the copyright for an 'expanse' of an already existing and copyrighted universe. (This is not meant as an offense. Just me wondering)

Bluh - he looks like an ancient, mostly, but he is a Hylden messiah, and a vampire messiah too...did you play Defiance?
Well, lets take an example. Let's take Tolkien's universe. You know who Tolkien is for sure, don't you? Well imagine that someone would create a new race of elves - with it's own language, cultures, history, but living in the Middle Earth and making wholly part of it. Would thta race belong to Tolkien? I don't think so.
It's a very delicate matter that you've risen, and I don't posess the needed knowledge of laws concearning such subtile copyrights to justify myself.
In fact this race of mine was initially very much based on what we have in LoK, and then, I changes it gradually, to make up something original, but attached still to the LoK world. But - thinking of it - many fictionnal monsterts are of different colors, like blue. And I luff blue color. Many monstars have clwas and fangs. Some of them have three fingers - and it is not Eidos'es idea, ninja turtles have three fingers after all! 
If it doesn't belong to Eidos (and no, Eidos owns LoK, not my characters) then who's is it?
In order to avoid any possible art-stealing or copycat issues

I did play Defiance. And I played every other part of the whole series with the exception of the original Blood Omen that I only just purchased on ebay. And sorry, even though I played it several times never did I get the impression that he was a Hylden. To my understanding it was part of the manipulation of the elder to try and make him think he was one, while he was neither. He wasn't exactly the vampiric messiah either but became that in combination with Kain... as the sword Kain weilded in the last battle which was to bring the decision. At least that's how I understood the whole thing. *shrugs*

Well...as far as I understood Raziel was the both of the two champions - the vampire one and the hylden one - that were painted on the walls fighting one against each other. At least that's what I heard on Eidos forums... gah, Defiance is complicated to understand with all that time-spinning and such

Well, actually I found Defiance quite all right to follow. What had me much more confused were the beginnings of Soul Reaver 2. I was standing there kind of going HUH? o.O And Blood Omen 2 gave me the same difficulties at first. It wasn't until halfway through the game that I totally grasped what was going on.

Btw... The new album of a power metal band from Brazil called "Angra" has a song called the Shadow Hunter, maybe that song, or even the entire album, could bring you some ideas for him. "Temple of shadows" the album's name. o_o

Btw, you had some inspiration from Raziel too, don't you?... I can say you like him a lot too, you even have a deviation made by *Asamarith with Raziel and the Nosgoth pilars as the "main characters" (Pretty damn good adaptation of the gospel of vampires)...

that looks pretty kewl. good design and colors
i only have two issues, but its just fussy ol me, so ignore if you choose.
1.) his outside toe/claw thing is, well, on the outside. i feel it would give better balance if were on the inside of the foot
2.) his wing on his back, there seems to be no muscles connetcting to it. likes its just pasted there.
other than that its fab. want to see more!

1) Raptors have their extra claws on the inside. I didn't want this species to look like anthro raptor or something. Besides if you put those claws of the insides of his legs he would just cut hismelf while walking
2) yep. you're actually right, those wings are made of bones, skin and some feathers remains, no muscles. And the wing bones just come out of the spine, though the back's muscles. You might have noticed that those wings are too small for him to use them for flying like birds do. Vampire Wraith levitate, and use wings and tail to guide themselve, accelerate/decellerate, change directions, not to mantain them in the air.
Does it all make sense?
