It's the lighting. It looked grey because the areas Zim was seen wearing it had very dim lighting such as Dib's room and Skool. But in daytime, It's bright green. The truth is, the hoodie isn't grey at all. It was just a different shade of green. XD

I actually have a jacket with the same exact color, but it has black sleeves, eyes, long black ears, black stitches, and a triangular tongue on the hood, complete with a black tail.
