This may not be an excerpt from an actual fanfic, but the concept is pretty much exactly the basis of Mendacity . Bon Bon is secretly a changeling, and is with Lyra. Lyra doesn't know. ('till the end of course)

I have read mendacity, it was excellent.
I needed to twist the idea around though to meet the restrictions of these cards though, and I wanted to do something involving changelings, and I was strapped for ideas. Mendacity differs in that Lyra doesn't find out until the very end, making Bonbons goal wishful rather than absolute compared to most fiction where completing a task leads straight to the goal being achieved.

Really like the idea behind this.
And that little picture together with the flavour text conveys a lot of emotion.
Also, these 'trading card ponies' are a great way of setting a scene.

They ones who made TSSSF really knew how to tell a story without telling a story. Enough to know the situation, not enough to find out what happens. Perfect.

I tried to make it sufficiently cheesy to fit in with "Twilight Sparkles Secret Shipfic Folder" and those stories. It took a while to decide on a theme, and since there are dozens of changeling stories I opted for this.

You sure succeeded! To be honest, in an actual fanfiction, that part would probably be longer, but on a TSSSF card, that would have turned ranty, not to mention that it would have been hard to make fit. All in all, a nice, funny job! And the picture fits very well.
