So I was reading a conversation about the mechanics of fifth form Kooler's faceplate a while ago and it got me thinking about a more anatomically plausible design. In the original design, his faceplate slides up over his mouth from...somewhere under his chin? Anyway, in this version, the faceplate is in two pieces and is hinged at each end allowing it to open and close over his mouth like an insect's mandibles.Related content

That's a cool design (pun intended) and they do have some insect - like traits...
