Scenario for my animation, some parts feels a bit unnatural, but I'm improving. Animate a background is kind difficult, I have to rewatch some ghibli movies.Related content

Yeah some rocks and trees were done with watercolors, the water frames are digital.Β

The waterfall indeed could use some improvement, the water doesn't look transparent at all, it looks a bit like blue milk right now, and maybe comes down a little too straight without any splashes or foam at the bottom. Other than that, very very nice!Β

Yeah, I'm rewatching some ghibli scenes because they make it something similar much more effective. A splash there should help a lot.

the motion of the river is very believable, that's great!
the waterfall ... maybe could be improved. the direction of motion of the waterfall is not clear. the horizontal bit is wobbling left and right. the vertical bit looks stationary. also i think the outline is too regular.

I agree with ur thoughts, this is cheap made because I'm very concious that in the whole movie, this scene only is going take
some seconds, so I can't put much time in each scene, like Rain.Β

ah ok if it's only a few seconds, it should be good enough.
it also depends on the style of the rest of the animation too. if every shot follows a similar style of simplification, then you don't want to make the movement in a shot too natural or it will stand out too much.
BTW I didn't say, the rest of the artwork is stunning. you really are very talented!!

Hm, not half bad, although indeed some parts look a tad weird. If you don't mind, I'll give you a few constructive criticisms.
The waterfall itself looks amazing; the loop goes on seamlessly and the way the light reflects on it is quite good. The only thing that looks strange is the fact the way it's drawn look so different from the bushes, and that these don't move at all. Also, the water might be moving a bit too fast for a ''calm water''.
The rocks look simply perfect; nothing to change there, IMHO. I specially like how well the lights and shadows mingle on them, and how seamlessly their shadows on the water move.
The one thing I really don't like how they look are those rocks and leaves in the lower part. Their different shading makes them feel really out of place for some reason.
