Description
This is my latest personal artwork I have been working on for ages, because I stopped several times and picked it up again and again. There was quite a lot of reworking and I still see many imperfections but I think I should put it to rest now.

The source of the idea for this image was reading books about narcissistic disorder and the effects on the victims of narcissistic people.

The idea I wanted to convey with this is how outer influences (may it be control for example, downplaying talk, or eventually negative things that you get told directly or indirectly, or other behaviour) can affect you so, that you start to believe those things subconsciously, you internalise them. Therefore you nurture them yourself, especially when you have learned them at a young age. You implement them into your own thought patterns, tell them to yourself, even though they hurt you and your self-esteem.
They can leave you tied up. Eventually you might stop developing your own self because of the constraints you place upon yourself now.

But there's always hope to break out of this circle (of continuous doubtful thoughts, fears, lack of self-esteem). Something you can do, is alter the way you talk in your mind to yourself. Discard negativity and stop downplaying yourself. There's no need for that.

It can be difficult to do, but it should get easier by time. Most important is that you recognise such thought patterns and try to break the cycle.

I could talk on and on about this but, I might already have said too much. I'll leave you to it and feel free to interpret the image for yourself.
