Description
I'm constantly being formed, influenced and shaped by others, sometimes they push and pull on me. I learn and adapt to society, my friends, my family etc. I have many shapes, many faces which can be different depending on the people I am with. But what is my real identity?This is a selfportrait for an identity artwork series. So there are propably one or two pictures more to come. I didn't start with them yet, so it can take a while.
It feels good to do something personal again.

ok...sounds very interesting...perhaps in the other hand you can be holding another face, a second face, perhaps of someone who you may aspire to be, or just someone significant to you...or maybe one of those other hands can hold and extend their face or another face to you...

I do identify with this - less now than I did when I was younger, but I certainly feel that most of what people see of me is merely my reaction to being with them/interacting with them. I'm not always sure what I'm really like. Bubbly and energetic? Pessimistic and brooding? All of it is me, but not all of the time. This picture really captures that feeling when we're in our darkest moments trying to figure out who we are.
