Hey everyone!!

Here is the 91st page of my Explorer's Notebook for the Animal of the Month Event at : the Akohekohe!! and I'm glad to be finally back at my usual pace when I can draw my AotM before the 15th of the month

Akohekohe is also known as Hawaiian Crested Honeycreeper, but since the word "Akohekohe" comes from its call, I'm using it, because it sounds way cooler
They eat the nectar of flowers in the high forests of Maui island, are highly talkative and, sadly, critically endangered... they were even thought to be extinct, as a matter of fact, in the 1940s... fortunately, a small population was found later and they have been protected and observed carefully since.
As you can see on their Wikipedia page (link under the next paragraph), it seems that not much is known about their behavior, social life and reproduction...So, if you know someone who's interested in ornithology and is looking for a new bird to study... spread the word! The more we know about them, the more we can help them survive!

About the drawing: as always with birds, it was a pleasure to draw this fella while I was coloring it, I realized that it has very Halloween-ish colors, and that made me smile, too and that crest was soooooooooo much fun to color
