Hey everyone!!

Something a bit on the atmospheric-abstract side today, for the PUPA challenge...

This is the 13th time I enter the PUPA challenge for the group ArtChrysalis , for which we all have the same reference photo, everyone creates their own artwork from it, and upload it on the last day of the month!!

So, this is the reference photo we had to use:

Posted by my good friend Ptero-Pterodactylus but made by his son, Fire-Fireblade who has created his own account since. The photo is gorgeous but sooooooooooooooooooooo incredibly tricky to work with...  I hesitated for hours on the medium, changed my mind in the middle, tried different techniques, which led to something far more abstract than what I had in mind but experimenting is part of the game, isn't it?? I was fascinated by the reflections we see in the bubble, like the photographer, trees and buildings, and I didn't want to remove them, even if it would have simplified the drawing... the frost made with indenting in white pencil looked atrocious on my test paper, so in the end I used white gouache on an old, short-haired brush to draw the frost, which looks quite interesting, I think... all in all, a lot of experimenting!!

I have also started another version only in black and gold ink... would you like to see it, too?

Dedicated to all of you who support me, it means a lot these days, when I am battling hernias, bursitis and inflamed bak and ribs...
