Description
Based on the character Shylo Vitari from The First Law trilogy by Joe Abercrombie. He is awesomness.If you haven't gotten your hands on these books yet you are missing something spectacular!
Go look for: The Blade Itself, Before They Are Hanged and Last Argument Of Kings.
Not totally happy with it yet, but I will go back and edit this piece as my skills improve.

Joe Abercrombie's books and characters are amazing, this picture is very similar to how I had Practical Vitari in my minds eye as I read Before They Are Hanged.

my boyfriend recommended these books to me (currently reading "Before They are Hanged") and i've been hooked ever since. The characters and the storylines are so intriguing, it's unlike anything i've read before!

I LOVE JOE ABERCROMBIE'S BOOKS!!!!!!!!! I am finishing Best Served Cold currently. I loved the books though and I really wish that there was more fan art out there for the books, especially the trilogy. I would love to see Logen illustrated, or Maljinn, or Jezal. An Eater would be interesting as well.
Screw it all! His characters are just written so well that I would love to see art for them all.

Are you going to draw any of the other characters you think? Such a brilliant trilogy. The ending was so perfect. Collem West was my favourite character, though Glokta really gave him a run for his money.

Yes, I did send Joe the pic. Not sure if he's had a chance to look at it yet... I would love to paint Ferro next, as soon as I'm done with my Warhammer series.
I think Glokta must be my favourite character. A man after my own heart! He is going to be quite a challenge to paint so I'll take my time on that one.

I'm at the end of the second one and well..
My first comment would be that I got a distinct feeling that Practical Virali is a she and not a he. I am quite confident gender-wise. I mean, I like the chick. I wouldn't be so confident in saying I like the dude. I mean, I would say it but not as confidently.. khm. haha. on that note, you really should make a drawing of Ferro. Damn is she awesome or what? Reminds me of a wild cat.
ya know, all I have been doing lately is reading. which would be completely your fault btw. I love the series. can't stop reading them for long - love. I am sometimes annoyed at the multiple perspective writing style. it bothers me alot. but that mainly because I am a lot more interested in a certain part of the story from the rest. but the first law aint like that. I enjoy all parts of it. haha, if I only think of how many times I have to laugh outloud..
brr. so, I am sorry for not sparing you the pain until I have read through them all. but then again, I am not really.
