I think Clopin might have meant in general, as in when they were young... but he's a smooth guy, he can follow along. XD

I really like Clopin. I see him as Flynn or Aladdin plus 10 years of crushing poverty and a life of crime. He doesn't enjoy hurting people but he probably has no problems praying on someone's naivety (the Sultan) or ingratiating himself with power in order to stay on their good side (Yzma). But he won't save Yzma when her tangled plots threaten to hang her or get nasty when the Sultan wises up and takes a stand...he'll just drift off to try his luck somewhere else (he's not actually a villain after all, I would describe him as Chaotic Neutral personally). You know how they say that the Evil Queens are the princesses that never got rescued? Well Clopin is a Hero who never got to save the day.
That's my take anyway. The author probably has other ideas.

The evil queen bit... Is that from Indexing or Once upon a time? I've heard it somewhere. where is it from?

I believe it's from the film Maleficent originally but I first spotted it on Pintrest. There is some stunning art work along those lines on there, but it does fit the aesthetic of OUAT and Indexing to a tea.
And I've always had a soft spot for an anti-villain. I could listen/watch/read Loki, Magneto or Lord Vetinari monolog for hours.
(Also in the book Frollo of all people is this. He is actually a decent father and all his evil stems from his inability to deal with how he feels for Esmerelda, he is shown as suffering when he does evil deeds. Disney obviously took all that out. Useless fact for you.)

Honestly the real story is between Meg and Herc that's happening in the background and I love it. That was straight out of the movie and it was done perfectly.

So nice to see the parents/guardians agains. Quite interesting that Sultan, Yzma and Clopin used to be a posse. Though I doubt Sultan knew Yzman's true nature since he can be rather naive sometimes.

Oh Yzma, I friggin love her to death. I can't get enough of Emperor's New Groove because of her! Also, Meg's face in that 2nd panel is just way too adorable. Curious how you'll reconcile her saving Herc's life at the cost of her own. Clever using the festival gypsy man here! And I want aallll the Sultan in those clothes! It's like he teleported from the 30s!
