People have been asking if Beast have been cleaning up his appearance for Belle’s sake lately, And now it’s canon. I am going to miss drawing him all scruffy. I was just getting a grip on how to do that satisfactorily. Oh well!
Belle is staying in the Bête household while her father is on business trips. He is often on business trips... or possible lost on business trips
Edit! I changed the size of the text a little so people would read it more like I had intended it to be read.
Some were just harping on Belle for being rude to Beast, when He was meant to be the one rude to Mrs Pots to begin with.
And what would Belle care about looks? Honestly people? She admits he looks nicer now but, she is Belle for crying out load. Personality all the way.

The Beast in the mirror is a clever touch. I like to "draw" on wet mirrors too sometimes.

Besides, he was being rude to Mrs Potts, his loyal and kind servant, Belle wouldn't let that fly.

Not that he's not handsome as clean-shaved. but I so preferred his scruffy appearance.
Oh Belle, it's no wonder he's so stubborn and gross with you since you always tend to bite his head off for even the smallest reason. Sure, his rudeness was uncalled for, but you need to lighten up with him a bit.

What I mean is just politeness goes both ways. If she wants Beast/Adam to be nicer, maybe she should show him excample instead of insulting him? It's kinda of a never-ending circle between them; first Adam starts being rude, which Belle tends to return, and the it just goes on and on. Just a thought

Why should she be nicer to him?
Does she want something from him?
Does she know why he has changed his appearance?
Should she just let him be rude to Mrs Potts who is his servant and in a problematic position to scold him?
Belle is living with a rude boy because her father is out of town. Some say he is nice looking and he has been nice on occasion. But mostly he is just rude. Why should she be nice to him?
She is still lacking in motivation.
Beast is the one who wants something from Belle, he is the one with motivation.

And she doesn't even know it. That he loves her, I mean.
He has always been rude and while we see that he is trying to change, she doesn't see it completely. He has already pushed her away with his manners, so it will take more than nice words and a good shave to make her see that he is trying to be better. And it doesn't mean anything if he tries to be nice just to her: What about people around? Like Tiana said, it's about being decent.
