Wow! That is a very cool approach to drawing trees. I recently started a picture with a bunch of trees in it, not realizing I didn't know how to draw trees Can't wait to try this out!

This tutorial is very helpful! I just have one question, won't the colors mix once you add the shadows?

Thanks for the kind words, I'm happy that it was of any use for you. As for the shadows - just wait for the markers to dry out on the drawing and then add the shadows.

I also like that you did the tree from top to bottom. Love the light airy look of this tree.

Wouldn't this be a top down approach? This is more an impression than actually drawing the tree. or painting it. I always end up starting from the bottom up trying to make it true to life and it mucks up -_- this looks awesome

There's not alot of good 'tree tutorials' which is odd because I figured many artists would love to learn the secrets but this is very helpful! Thanks for taking the time to make.

Thanks a lot for making this tutorial. I've got some markers but never knew how to use them. This helped a lot. I had to do it in greys but it still worked.

No problem
You can do lots of things with greys.
Sometimes it looks better than colour.

I need this kind of tutorial. The trees with the fine liner have a comic book effect to me. This is super helpful

Very simple but very effective. I've a whole page of various trees now using this way (it also works quite well in water color too!). Thank you for sharing.

tutorial: najpierw narysuj pień a pózniej gałęzie i liście i drzewo gotowe
