Description

Well the single tutorial for things seemed to be the winner so far so here is part 1 of many many many little background tips and tutorials from me.

All of the trees were created on Photoshop using normal brushes on round.
The leaves can be found in these brushes packs:
fav.me/d4mwyh6 - I use these ones the most they are fantastic!
fav.me/d24laop - Didn't use these on this occasion but they are also great!

Top tip for leaves
So that you don't over power your tree with leaves you should lower the flow of your brush setting at the top of Photoshop

If you have any questions shout up!
I shall do my best to answer them.

Enjoy!!

Do you know how to make trees in the background? If so, can you please tell me?

This is a silly question but do photoshop brushes have a copyright on them. Β I ask because say I download the ABR, use the brushes in a picture for a commercial item like a book, can I then be sued by the creator of the brushes. Β Not saying that anyone or you would do that. Β I just know that using others photos can violate copyright. Β Is that the same with brushes

It sure can,
It's the same with anything now days, People create fonts, brushes, textures etc and unless specified in their terms of use that they are 100% free then some limitations may be on them.
Sometimes people say that they can only be used for personal projects such as making art and posting it on DA, Others specify that the brushes/font/picture etc may not be used for commercial purposes, if you wanted to be completely certain then it's best to check before downloading the resource, other than that if it has already been made then there isn't much that can be done other than to make the artist aware or contact them just out of courtesy, wherever you post the item you can always give them credit by linking back to the artist.Β
Generally if the artist is credited they shouldn't make a fuss, it wouldn't be worth their time or money to kick up a lawsuit over the use of a brush, more fuss would be made if it was a picture of someones face or the use of someones art. :3

Thank you. Β I'm also teaching myself how to make my own brushes using the default brushes and tweaking them. Β I also want to make my own custom brushes as well

a mini question, do you use refs for trees XD

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DoodleBerrys In reply to hhorseACE [2013-07-04 18:38:59 +0000 UTC]

Hells yeah I use ref's for trees! Well...if I wanted to draw them properly I would, say I I wanted to draw a certain type like cherry blossom or silver birch, but normally I just make them up like tree number one and then add leaves
