I'm doing an art trade with a friend but the horse they want me to do is a light bay with really pale face and socks. What would be the best settings for it?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DoodleBerrys In reply to AF-Kay [2012-11-13 18:47:05 +0000 UTC]

Hmmmm, Not sure really, it could fit in many different settings but perhaps a dusky setting sun with oranges and deep blues for shadows on the horse :3

I like how your tutorials are easy to understand, you don't skip steps and have notes regarding any doubts or giving extra info. Very well organized too. I've never used the gradient tool to shade, I might try it now that I understand it a little better.

lol, looks fairly simple enough, just plug and play?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Fun4All328 In reply to DoodleBerrys [2012-09-20 14:29:14 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, that's it Of course you need to download the software that takes about 5 minutes, but that's it. I just get confused with the looking at the screen and drawing without looking at my hand xD

I'm glad you think so, I was thinking of putting out some recorded screen counterparts with them just so it's even easier to understand if people need to see it done

moonhorse421 [2012-09-08 22:02:58 +0000 UTC]

When you did the first layer of shading, did you (for lack of a better word) draw in the space to be filled, or something else? I don't really understand what you did there.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DoodleBerrys In reply to moonhorse421 [2012-09-09 08:04:30 +0000 UTC]

Ah no problem, after I selected all the areas I wanted to I changed tools to the 'gradient tool' it's on the same button as the 'fill bucket tool', then I dragged my tool across the screen, it works just as well if you want to use the paintbrush tool to fill in the areas you have selected or the bucket (fill) tool.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

moonhorse421 In reply to DoodleBerrys [2012-09-09 14:54:55 +0000 UTC]

Ok, but how did you lasso it? Did you just drag the tool around the area that was to be filled in?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DoodleBerrys In reply to moonhorse421 [2012-09-09 14:58:39 +0000 UTC]

Yup, if you click on the lasso tool you can select sections, if you don't click 'add to section' at the top as described then it will just reselect different bits instead of keeping the last selected bit.
I'm doing a video tutorial as well so hopefully that will help.
