Got a message in from someone recently about how my shading style could be adapted for someone with a mouse instead! I confess I hadn't given it much thought, I'm so used to working with a tablet or pencil and paper, so I did some thinking and decided on what I think would be the best course of action when using my method. In this case, lasso and blur tool! (or smudge, depending on your program and personal style.)

Obviously there's a lot of room for changing aspects, which you're more than welcome to do, but if I were alone with a mouse and Paint Tool SAI this is how I would go about shading.

Reminder: One of the most important things I've learned with this is to be patient. Speed will come with time. Speed will come with practice. There's no hurry here.
