History:
Raven's childhood was a rough one, where it never felt like anything went her way. Her family was poor, her parents seemingly disinterested in raising they child they had, and she was perhaps more accident prone than anyone else around her. For as far back as she can remember, if something had a chance to go wrong, the odds were pretty high it would. Things would only get worse when her parents kicked her out a week after she turned 18. With no real savings to find herself housing and with normal job interviews going about as badly as could be expected, Raven reached the end of her rope before finally fumbling into something that seemed to work for her. The one hobby she had growing up was magic tricks, and she realized quickly in her desperation it was the one useful skill she had. So she took up a role as a street conman, running games of three-card monte and other tricks she had learned to separate people from their hard-earned bells. It worked well enough for a while; she could never afford a stable living but she eventually made enough to buy a beaten up car to live in and to keep food coming in.
At least until karma caught up with her.
When you're in the business of scamming people, they don't always act very kind to you in return. For the most part, Raven could deal. She was weaselly enough to get out of the occasional scrape, and going to sleep with a couple of bruises was usually better than trying to sleep on an empty stomach. Then as it would happen, one day she scammed the wrong person. A person who, unbenounced to her, was lacking a shadow. He seemed ticked off at the time, cursing her out and threatening he'd be back, but Raven didn't think too much of it. Just move to a different part of town, and they almost never come back. Unfortunately for her, they did. And they brought some friends. In retaliation, the raiders forced a potion down her throat before making off with whatever bells she'd scrounged together that day.
She woke back up sometime late that night, head pounding, her mouth dry, and voices echoing in her ears. One of them; however, seemed a lot louder than the others. Almost as if it was coming from her own thoughts. But it wasn't her thoughts. She wouldn't figure everything out that night, but eventually Raven would come to understand what she'd become, as well as understanding that for whatever reason, becoming a raider had caused some form of minor deity to be invited inside her head. It wasn't a pleasant few months, but slowly Raven started to patch things back. Learned to cope with her new headmate Inos, learned to work around her newfound raider drawbacks. On the plus side, because Inos was a luck deity, Raven's life actually started to even out following his arrival. Now her entire life seemed to be karmically balanced, any bad luck being shortly followed by a bout of good luck. Eventually her life was sorted enough that she managed to stick a job. It wasn't a great job, she was just working for a local card shop, but it was an actual, not-scamming job, and one that she eventually worked her way up to becoming the manager of. She couldn't afford much in the way of living, so reluctantly, she rented out a room in a townhouse where at least the rent would be split between a group.
Personality:
Very jaded, rarely if ever taking anything that happens with more than a straight face and a sigh. And why would she? She's used to being unlucky, and it's hard to get excited about good luck when you could theoretically force it to happen. That is of course not to say she's a mean-spirited person, just more so that she's very melancholic and monotone, rarely letting things get her down or excited. Very go with the flow, and would much rather follow someone else's rules to the letter than try and come up with her own.
Other:
Proof of the Raider Ticket used to make her.
Outfit/Form List
- She/They (Raven), He/They (Inos)
- Both Raven and Inos' consciousness are always present in their head regardless of form. In standard form, Raven has full control of their body and can tune Inos out pretty well; while in mythic form, Inos has full bodily control and can tune Raven out pretty well. In raider and shadow forms, the two essentially have to fight over who gets to control the body (or agree on it), and it's essentially impossible for either to tune the other out.
- Is pretty good at card tricks and pretty knowledgeable about various tcgs, though she doesn't usually go out of her way to play them.
- Manages a local card shop in Lilypad, TCGlobe, most days.
- Weak to sound.
- Dislikes using her luck powers as she deems them volatile and ultimately useless seeing as they'll eventually balance out regardless. But does still use them on occasion in a pinch, as entertainment, or just to shut people up who bother her about them.
- Lives in a townhouse with 8 others, in the largest first floor room. Is the oldest of the residents.
- "Pulpen Snowman" Font
Potential Clothing Articles:
- Jeans (Starter)
- TCGlobe Hoodie (Starter)
- Bindi (Starter)
Potions Applied:
- N/A
Abilities and Powers:
- Raider - Has the typical raider standard abilities like limited shapeshifting, shadow slipping, etc.
- Karmic Control - With Inos' powers as a luck diety, Raven can shift her or other's karmic balance to give them either good or bad luck. This could be as little as finding a coin on the floor or stubbing your toe to as big as winning the lottery or breaking your leg. However, there's a catch. Inos is only a minor deity, and as such can not truly give or take luck, just put a thumb on the karma scale. It could be right away or in a year, but eventually that person's karma will swing back the other way to balance out again, meaning if Raven gives you immediate good luck, you will eventually experience an equal amount of bad luck or vice versa. Requires consent to be used on others.
