Description (What would be a suitable category to put this one in...?)

(And yes, I also used the time-tested camera-in-the-dark technique!)

Okay, so last week, there I was, generally brooding and feeling uninspired, and I took a (frankly short) break.

Then this piece of software arrives a short time ago!

Yes, these are my first two microgames in WarioWare D.I.Y! And since I'm posting a few screens here as this M.F.S, naturally my first instinct was to make something like these!

The actual first game is on the left hand column of crappy camera snapshots: "Kick 'Em Up".

Here's 666! Who's looking a little different and oddly proportioned; I was just coming to grips with the limitation of the Game MakerMatic's graphic system...

The command says "Boots Off!" It requires that both boots are tapped to take 'em off! Simple!

The second microgame on the right was a little more complex: "Mia Says..." featuring my favourite girl Mia! (and Daisy, for some reason. It was going to be Taylor at first, but I changed it at the last moment!)

Mia gives one of four randomly chosen commands (to do to her feet, obviously!) and you have to tap the right button to do it. You only have one chance, though; choose the wrong button, or take too long, and you lose!

There's a ton more AI (Action Instructions) in this one than the last, especially concerning multiple triggers and creating ways to randomize things (Check the Assembly Dojo for stuff like that!)

Anyway, I really enjoyed using the Super MakerMatic 21 (as it's called in-game), spending my spare time making these games (and 4 panel comics... and music)! When I have the time, I could show you more in the future - unless this becomes a featured example on internet "articles" ragging on people like myself... or not.

D.I.Y Super MakerMatic 21 Engine (C) Nintendo, Intelligent Systems 2009. 2010

Characters, Microgames (C) M.F.S Software 2010

EDIT: I've seen the comments so far, asking if they can download these microgames I've made. Well, that's what the Distribution Center is for! All we have to do is exchange Friend Codes (You'll need to be connected to Nintendo WFC to do this!), and I'll ship my games for you to play! (and music and comics, maybe). Thing is, I can only send two of each type at a time (2 games, 2 comics, e.t.c), but since I have only two here, it's not much of a problem right now!

I'm not placing my Friend Code here - for safety reasons, you will have to note me providing your Friend Code, and I'll give you mine!

And I'm not entirely familiar with the system either. I'll likely have to stay connected (with my DS) if you want to download my stuff - let me know if you're on Nintendo WFC!

That's cool. I have a microgame in mind that is Smooth Moves themed and it introduces a new form but unfortunately I don't have Warioware DIY. Anyway, the form is Weather Wane and it has you holding the Wiimote from below with the tip pointing at the side. The games utilising this form usually has you turning something.

As soon as I find my friend code,we'll exchange them. BTW,are you talking about a DS friend code or a Wii friend code?

MostlyFunStuff In reply to sffan [2010-12-29 03:37:40 +0000 UTC]

But I still cannot exchange them at all (DS friend code by the way) - My internet does not allow for Wifi stuff...

BTW,I'm gonna be closing my old AFFZ group(not the one i have here on DA,the other one)soon. It's purpose has been served.

Say, would you be willing to do commissions with this as well?
Cause I've been practicing drawing with my stylus, my system is way too old to draw with a tiny stick.
Not to mention, I can only seem to draw one foot on the screen.

Cause I would love too have a micro game where you have to lick Chun-li's feet. Much like the gem on the right.
But Cammy is the one licking.

But before I start, perhaps we should test the WFC transfer thingy. When you're ready, send me a note with your Friend Code...

Commissions for D.I.Y games? I guess so. Sure! I'll just have to figure out the prices...

Oh, I understand your pain - I'm still using the launch model DS, and still managed to draw these!

When I make these, I do it on the condition that it has to be playable as a game so...

Do you know what quarter circle forward+kick does for Cammy?

chunlilover In reply to MostlyFunStuff [2010-03-31 22:05:46 +0000 UTC]

Right now I just got the Wii version. I'm planning on buying the DSI later today.
After that, my friend is gonna reprogram my R4 chip so that I can play Wario Ware DIY.

Hopefully a bigger stylus and bigger screen will make things alittle more clear to draw.
Though I have to admit, my drawings did come out quite nicely as my own here on DA. Sadly I didnt have enough room to draw the rest.

And are you talking about Cammy's Cannon Arrow? The move in which she twirls on the floor?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MostlyFunStuff In reply to chunlilover [2010-03-31 22:22:03 +0000 UTC]

Ah, you got Showcase! I hope your R4 works with Wi-Fi Connection...

And yes, I'm referring to that move (I thought it was called Spiral Arrow!). Here's what I'm thinking: I'll place the 8 directions as buttons and two normal buttons for punch and kick - you'll have to hit the right buttons to win the game!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chunlilover In reply to MostlyFunStuff [2010-03-31 22:34:03 +0000 UTC]

It does. I've been playing Jump Stars online. Hard to beat anyone though as they all are japanese. XD

In the original SF2 games, her move was called Cannon Arrow. Later on in SFA3, it was changed to Spiral Arrow.
In short, Alpha Cammy uses Spiral arrow, while Delta Red cammy uses Cannon Arrow.

SOunds cool. I was thinking something along those lines as well.
Where you need to push certain buttons in order to use Chun-Li's Kikousho attack on Bison or Vega.
Fail, Bison just stands around laughing.

how many points does Wario Ware D.I.Y cost on the shop channel, and can you import your picture in the game?

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

MostlyFunStuff In reply to TheBigMan0706 [2010-03-30 20:51:55 +0000 UTC]

Oh and you cannot make any new games on Showcase, only on the original D.I.Y on the DS.

TheBigMan0706 In reply to MostlyFunStuff [2010-03-31 01:05:15 +0000 UTC]

when is it coming out on the DSi?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MostlyFunStuff In reply to TheBigMan0706 [2010-03-31 01:28:39 +0000 UTC]

There isn't a DSi version. The game cart should be compatible with all versions of the DS. It should be out now-ish.

Are you referring to D.I.Y Showcase?

It costs 800 Wii Points on the Shop Channel. You'll need your DS and a copy of WarioWare D.I.Y to transfer your games (and I think other content, such as music and comics, but I haven't tried it yet) to D.I.Y showcase.

When I get Wario Ware, can you send this game to me?

I think I can do that! Assuming you can already connect with Nintendo WFC, we'll exchange Friend Codes and notify the other of our online status using dA's Note System!
