This is great work. How many people does it take to operate the puppet? Also what sorts of materials did you use for crafting?

The head, which is 9ft in length and weighs between 45-60lbs, is operated by one man. The entire top of the head as well as the hinge for the jaw is constructed off a modified backpack frame allowing all the weight to rest on the puppeteers back and waist where the center of gravity it. This allows for fast and dynamic movements because it is attached directly to the performer's body. Inside the jaw there are two aluminum crutches attached to the front of the jaw which the puppeteer uses to open and close the mouth, his elbows acting as the hinge.
The frame work of this puppet is made of Epifoam, making it sturdy, rigid and lightweight. It is covered with upholstery sheet foam and painted with Krylon spray paint.
While the head is operated by one person, there are two other performers who are laying on the ground disguised as roots and branches, they do not help in the operation of the head. These two actors have vines, leaves and roots attached to their hands and feet giving the plant 8 independently moving parts that flail and grab.
