my idol (one of) is Frank Frazetta, who i feel is the absolute best at capturing a moment of action without making it look posed at all - that is to say, he reportedly drew and painted everything without any real reference. Unlike Boris Ballejo, who does beautiful color work, but his images seem very rigid and posed to me.
so, anyway, i try to go for the "frozen moment of action" sort of feel
