Every pairing with Shadow sucks. Even if its yaoi. Come on, he's like, 50+ years old, and half the Sonic characters are either teenagers or kids. I'd rather have him stay single. Its better that way.

Although I certainly have supported Sonamy as a pairing, because I feel their personalities are very feasible, I am also a Shadamy fan, and I believe that both pairings have their merits.
For one thing, SEGA has let out in Sonic at the Olympics 2012 that Sonic doesn't have feelings for Amy.
This means that possibilities are open in the future.
Which is why Shadamy is also a possible, even if Amy's feelings are currently for Sonic: the future is untold, so her feelings COULD change.
Not saying that any couple is better than the other, but I am saying as a fan of ALL the shippings, t's impossible to say what can and cannot happen.

I just have to remark that Amy was, quoted from one of the three major people who formatted Sonic,'envisioned to always take after Sonic.' Therefore debunking that 'possibility'.
I also doubt it. Amy seems to love Sonic too much in all medias. You really think that she could magically move on after years of loving someone?
other reasons:
1: is that you are basically stripping away Amy's interest and base (she was confirmed to be a replacement for a girlfriend to Sonic. Also her inspiration, LOVED SONIC.) away and placing Shadow there. I don't believe that her love for Sonic will falter since she loved and cherished him in her younger and present years whilst the idea of loving shadow just came.
2: It seems that Shadow regards her as a friend or a possible partner since she displayed comfort and trust in him, earning respect. I will never imagine Shadow even loving her. Too serious. Serious cannot hold in the Sonic games. Besides, it seems like she is his little sister. Annoying, yet tolerable and nice.
3: Sonic Olympics aren't cannon, but a collaboration. I doubt if SEGA didn't like SonAmy or dissed the fact that Sonic might have small soft spots for her, the moments wouldn't be in the games. The confirmations in the Sonic anniversary would contradict to that statement. Etc. The only thing I see stopping SonAmy is the fan base, and the fact Sonic cannot get a girl in the main cannon. Amy is the cloest to romance we'd ever get. Lol!
4: Even, * holds down a cringe * even if Shadow gains a romantically inclined feeling for her, ( which is out of character enough, ) Amy wouldn't approach. She'd be obliviously naive. Even if she did pick up eventually, she'd turn him down, or just ignore and chase Sonic.
5: Maria is to Amy. For me. Also, the dark x light thing seems too much for a sonic game one, two, it could work platonic wise (doesn't have to be romantic. In fact, its Amy being friendly.), and three, personality crash and break ups. ( Hence that both individual's obtain very different spirits, life styles, and interests. Yin and yang have to be drawn strongly down to each other personality wise too. I see no strong relation.)
6: Amy seems to regard him as a friend and is softer hence her history with misunderstood villains. Her maternal and sympathetic attitudes do not spawn romantic love. If it did, she'd fall in love with gamma by now.
I respect opinions even if I don't like shadamy.
