Description Everyone said I was strange.

Well, they didn't actually say it. I saw it in their eyes. 'That boy's a nut, he is' the eyes translate. But I assume that's true. No one wants to come near or be associated with "Felton the Freak". I keep trying to say that that's not my name, it's Cyrus. Do those religious nuts listen? No. Of course not.

One person does though. He's my best friend, that Bradley Albarn.

Bradley is what most parents want their 14 year old son to be: Polite, sweet, and perfect. But to me, he's energetic and bossy. Do I mind? Sometimes.

"Damn! Please!" Gregor Stanley begs. I feel my lips tilt up in my own crooked smile. His bloody nose and black eye is such a delight to me. A pleasure, really. "Stop!"

I chuckle. "I wanna shred you into pieces." Stanley's annoying freckled face grimaced in fear. "Should I cut you into pieces with a knife to shave? Or pull out the organs?"

"Stop."

I look over my shoulder into Bradley's big hazel eyes. He narrows them and continues on, thinking I would care on what he says, "Stop this thing...This guy isn't worth it. You'll upset the Gods."

"Brad, don't interfere. I do what I wanna do."

He put a hand on my shoulder, his voice hardening. "I'm just mentioning the rules set up by your higher order."

Gregor Stanley's bloody shirt falls from hand. I turned around and didn't meet Bradley's gaze and walked past him.

His voice and feet followed me. "What are you doing? Did you think you could do whatever you wanted to once you joined the School of God?" I let a faint laugh escape my pale lips.

"I wanna live in a world without a God."

I felt his hesitation. "Do you mean that? Are you telling the truth, Cyrus?"

I crane my neck and met his eyes. "Of course not. A world like that would be sick."
