Description
latest in a long lineI was a bit worried about this one but seems to've been relatively unfounded, I think. I've worked out that this process is not for the faint-hearted; there were a lot of points during this painting where I just thought; nope, this ain't working . . . But I knew that all the others had gotten through that stage fine, so 'twas all good. A bit of different texture helped ease the monotony, too, so woo! to that.
I took a screencap so I'll put the video up tomorrow (I need sleep now). Enjoy!
EDIT. Video's up . Pity about the music, but anyways... Perhaps I shouldn't've used the album version.
You get the point without it.

This is brilliant, let me say firstly.
You wrote you were worried in the description, and if there's anything i can give in terms of Critique that as someone who's known Starcraft for longer than he should, i've always known the distinctive feature of the Infested Terran to be the Zerg-Cross-Terran face, and voice (although voice isn't quite on dA). This does kind of remind me of an Obliterator from Warhammer
If you're ever thinking about revising this, try play more focus on the hybrid features of the creature. He's human, but also Zerg, and should demonstrate qualities peculiar and foreign to both species.
Well, you said "Advanced Critique Encouraged" and though i'm no artist, i am a viewer. I do really like this picture, so please don't get the wrong idea out of this!!!!

Thanks for taking the time no problems at all.
I see your point; I was aiming to have the contrast between the terran armour and the zerg flesh stick out as the main featureβsince he's not exactly a new breed, just a living terran who's been infested. I've got plenty of Zerg to go, so I don't know if I'll be retouching it any time soon but it's always something to keep in mind.
Thanks!

I'm glad you recieved it well, i only had the best intentions in mind.
Your point is valid though, and i can see that you have definitely accomplished your aims of contrasting the two armour types to each other.
I do agree that he's not exactly a new breed... But there was always something different about the Infesteds which sparked a level of curiosity in me, there's something unique about them.
Keep up the good work!!!

not to a great extent, but their art-direction is pretty pervasive overall in the sci-fi fps sort of genre so it's a bit difficult not to be influenced
