Next, then.I was a bit worried about the pose on this one, since it was looking a little odd, but once I got the shadow on the BG in it seemed to sort itself out pretty nicely; I suppose it's just a little odd looking at something with 5 legs.
So yeah, this is sort of in-between the old lurker and the new model; I don't exactly know what the original one looked like, reallyβthe in game model was a lot bulkier and cooler looking I think than this render which came out at the time BW was released, which imo looks too much like a hydra with a couple of extra legs. Not entirely a fan of the current model either, so! This is then a bit more original on my part than most of these. I like to think it's still recognisable, though, so I 'spose that's up to you
Quicker than the Hydra, maybe 5 hours.

Before Broodwar even came out, on the original SC site, they mentioned the Lurker, but that it was an egnimatic and creep dwelling zerg strain. Guess it evolved and became available to all broods.

I've always wondered how they shoot spikes up from the ground tens of meters ahead of them, pointing up at a perfect vertical angle.

My favorite zerg unit. Most painful creepy crawlies against players who tend to build detectors later than needed. Most of my friends are pretty pissed off against me the first time I used this against their harvesters early in the game. hehehe.
The way you create this is pretty freakin good (got no words to describe how awesome this looks) but I think it looks thinner than the bulky hydra you did. Still, if you think about it, this is how they should be. Its pretty stupid to see monsters lurking underground if they are too bulky, they'd get spotted right away.
