Description
So I've decided to try a different method of saving my process, in order to partially assuage the requests I get to do more videos of my painting.I've got PS set up to save a new snapshot every time I save, and so as long as I work in one sitting (or remember to take screenshots before closing each session) I can get a much more step-by-step version of my process, as opposed to just looking through the layers once I've finished painting (which wouldn't've worked this time in any case, since I painted it all on one layer).
This took me about 3 hours, in PS CS4, using pretty much entirely a square brush that can be found here .
The final is up here -
Enjoy!
(it's a fairly big file, so might take a while to load - be patient!)

I just learned more in 10 seconds about concept work than I have in hours watching youtube videos. If only the videos were condensed like this.
Thanks dude!

Much better than a bunch of step by step images.
Please continue to use this technique to show your progress images.

I wish I could loathe such talents as yours, I don't, but I wish! Very nicely done.

Holy shit I thought this was like an actual 3D render or a real life model from the thumbnail!

what's the alchemy recipe for [Flask of Mr--Jack's Awesomeness]?
better questions: what's your usual working pixel dimensions? how do you maintain such crisp edges even when you're painting over lines back and forth?
keep bringing the thunder!

Mr--Jack In reply to fenrysk-art [2011-06-07 22:16:11 +0000 UTC]
Usual working size is around 4000px on the longest side, and sharp edges are usually kept by making sure I'm painting at full 100% opacity so things don't get smudgy
Thanks!
