Description
Okay, here's the process of one of the WoW TCG cards I did for the Throne of Tides set.(It's a big file, so be patient and let it load, or try the 'download' link if it's not working)
The final PSD is about 6000 x 4000px, and I ended up with ~10 layers + a couple of adjustments. The whole thing probably took around 9-10 hours or so.
Here's the final image; enjoy!

Sadly, I got away from drawing right after college, but am just now getting back into it and trying to figure out this new fangled digital world When teaching yourself, it's a tremendous help to come across tutorials, tips, tricks, etc from the pros.
Thanks a bunch!

Do you put most of the layers of color above the lineart? It's obvious that the first layer is either a multiply layer or below, but I find it difficult to tell with the others.

This is amazing! I am very interested in getting involved with this type of art. I love painterly effects in Photoshop. After you do the line art, do you keep that layer set on 'normal', or do a different effect like 'overlay'. Thanks!

Ah can't edit a comment - question after watching it again, the background wasn't really in the back, was it? Is that actually a layer in front of the figure?

Thanks so much for sharing! May I ask what brush you use? And what flow and opacity you use it on? If you use Photoshop, that is.
