Love the colours and the composition. Amazing how you can convey so much with so little.

I did a quick reference painting based off of this picture, if that is okay. Just wanted to try a similar picture for fun. [link]

The view is wow, yeah it would take my breathe away.
The technique is great! I like your style.
The contrast of the white vehicle armor with its black under mechanics is great! It makes it seem like its very detailed.

Thanks!
Glad to hear that, it's always satisfying to manage to get the impression of detail without drawing all detail

I'm thinking you should see Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust - I think you'd appreciate the scenery. (It's also one of my favourite films - I just like to pimp it out at every opportunity )
I didn't mean to imply you were copying! You know these Mesa's, whether they're space!mesa's or Arizona ones, they all look the same. Besides, you have mushroom spaceships, and that robot is just darling and kind of puppy/crane and kind of looking like it would be an eletronic pet in Japan (if it was scaled down dramatically of course!)
The purple-yellow mind/mood colours of Watchmen are hilarious, aren't they? So tenacious! Though it seems to have passed by most people, I can't even look at this bruise on my arm at the moment without thinking "Veidt!"
I do rather like Porcupine Tree actually Though I'm not very fond of the vocalist's, er, vocals, so I can't get into it as much as I want to - because the instrumental sections are devastating, not on the scale of Opeth, of course, but I can't take Opeth's emotional battery every day
so PT makes a nice kind of gentle option - like the friendly little English version of their marauding Scandinavian cousins. Which is not a criticism, hell, I'd move to Norway in a heartbeat if I could, but I do think they've cornered the market of the dark and doleful in a way that the rest of the world can only vaguely approximate
What are these other Watchmen-y songs, by the way?

Well you'll be quite pleased to know then that I've already seen it! And you're right there, it's fricking fantastic! Wonderfully mind-blowing animation, on top of all of the general awesomeness of the characters and all
Haha; don't worry, I didn't think you were (but I'm glad to know you weren't), and right againβall the bloody same! Man though, would it be awesome to have a little pet robot. At least until it went all bubblegum-crisis , but I guess that's a risk you've got to take!
Watchmen-bruises, eh? Sounds appropriate
A pity about that, methinks, though I'll agree he can be a bit boy-band-whiny sometimes the song that really stuck in my head from that album's called Time Flies, and listening to it now it just feels so 80s, which is a fairly hilarious connection, I think. On the whole I wouldn't say it's their best album, but I've gotten it quite stuck in my psyche now just because it was the only thing I had at the time (I was able to resist the temptation to turn on the television, and I managed not to use it at all in the 2 weeks before the rest of my stuff arrivedβnor did I turn it on after that, either, so hey). The only other cds I had were the latest Sunn O))) (which is apparently quite appropriate since Steven Wilson's been wearing a Sunn t-shirt on stage recently, from some accounts) album and a FantΓ΄mas album, which fit quite nicely into that 'cool but not exactly what you feel like listening to all the time' category. . .
Ah Opeth, yes indeed! Hehe Fantastic fantastic and more so, it must be agreed. (There are only a few songs in my library that I'll pretty much never skip, no matter what sort of mood I'm in, and the Grand Conjuration's definitely one of them; but their variety of work is so lovely (weird choice of words?) . . . Hehe. All good. Γ
kerfeldt has to be the best metal vocalist ever, also...

I was trying to figure out why this looked so very familiar... finally came to me - Viola! , only, yeah, crossed with Lucas's bastard son.
It's very lovely, and certainly, er, refreshing after all the demonspawns lurking in the shadows around here

haha; it was time for at least a little bit of a break with something different, yes
Andβwow! Similarities abounding, there! I'm not sure if I've seen that cover before or not (I've never listened to much, have to admit) but man! Nice catch, must say
Haha. When I first arrived over here I only had one cd that I could really listen to, 'cause all my other music was on it's way (and then stuck in customs for weeks), so there are a couple of songs that are irreversibly linked with Watchmen, since that was the only thing I was reading at the time as wellβso those couple of tracks just bring back the purpley-yellow mood of it so distinctly; I can't believe how well it stuck in my head. (The convenient thing there is that anything that reminds me of Watchmen undoubtably reminds me of you, so you're inextricably stuck in there as well, even though we'd not spoken for months at the time, and probably haven't heard the album, either (Porcupine Tree's 'The Incident', by the way ))
(I only mentioned that 'cause one of the songs was playing, though it always takes a while to write, so it's gone now )

A very interesting angle you have here, the twisting of the point of view makes for a nice perspective. In my opinion you could have defined the cliff a little bit more and thus adding more depth.
Cool Robot, I always love your machines.

i just love it, i dream of the day games companies do away with all the needless over worked 3d s**t and the same old tired muddy dark worlds and go back to the awe of concept art such as this... simple vista but still it has something that seems to get lost in this day and age.
