Everyone in mission control stood silent as they listened to the panicked cries of Capt. Janet Dalton; she no longer had control of her cruiser, which was being pulled towards the same mysterious glowing light that she set out to explore. The pressure within the cockpit began to rise as she could feel her nose and ears bleed from the intense force that she was experiencing . With one last blood curdling scream, her audio feed suddenly turn to static. Wide eyed and mouths ajar, the various personnel within the mission control room of the space station Vatruvius watched the grizzly image of her space crusier being completely vaporized after being engulfed within an extremely bright flash. The news quickly spread throughout the colony that one of their most esteemed astronauts and extraterrestrial adventurers had died doing what she absolutely loved to do, leaving the entire colony in mourning.

The camera that captured the violent ocurence did not pick up the finer details of the crusier explosion. All of the layers of Capt. Dalton's spacesuit was quickly seared away, followed by her epidermis, going down to her muscle, organs, to her skeleton, until nothing but a ball of energy was left in her wake. At that same instance, the ball of energy began to replicate Capt. Dalton's form...her body began to reform molecule by molecule as if everything that had just happened was going in reverse. Capt. Dalton's unconscious body floated in the bright blue portal-like field of energy. She opened her eyes and examined herself...her body was barely covered in a silver symbiotic material. Her left eye shined bright and a reddish-orange stream of energy emitted around her. Instead of looking shocked or confused as to why she wasn't dead or how was she able to float in the vacuum of space unaffected by the extreme conditions, she looked as if all of this was familiar and expected.

That's because it was indeed expected; in a sense, Janet Dalton did die in the explosion. Unbeknownst to her, or anyone back at Vatruvius, the glowing mysterious energy field was a living cosmic entity. After spanning the galaxy for millenia, said entity now had what it had been looking for.

Slyly smirkng she spoke,

"Yes, this vessel will more than suffice as my new body. The time has come...I must prepare."

The energy around her began to swirl, as she dematerialized...assimilating into an orb before flying off into the nebulous cosmos at lightspeed.

This was my attempt at making a more traditional superheroine/supervillain character. I was thinking of a cool cosmic-like character along the lines of Captain Universe, Silver Surfer, etc. I was itching to use that hairstyle, character, and the symbiote-like outfit and I really like how this came out! Chances are that I'll use her again at some point!
