After a long and grueling week, the bulk of her transformation was completed; all that was left were several minor cosmetic adjustments and her neural data program uploading terabytes of combat sequences and tactics into her memory banks and microchip implants within her brain. She resembled a life-sized action figure hanging on a rack in a toy store as her firm body hovered centimeters off the ground, suspended within an invisible magnetic field generated by the rack-like apparatus which surrounded her. The only organic components of her that were visible was her face and the top quarter of her cranium, the rest of her body was encased in a dense yet flexible layer of bio-synthetic exoskeletal armor which plugged directly into various parts of her body.

Mechanical arms bolted rivets strategically located over her body, semi-permanently bonding the cybernetic armor to her powerful frame. Her heavy eyelids fluttered as a sudden jolt of intense pressure quickly spread across her body. She winced and murmured softly as she was violently awakened by the cybernetic armor being screwed directly into her physique and extremities. She could feel the suit constricting around her muscular figure, hugging and digging into the flesh and muscles of her still mostly organic torso until she could feel the tingle of the nanomachines fusing her body and suit together…making the armor an extension of herself in the process. The bolts were then driven into her temples and her jawline…while she barely felt any pain at all, it was still eerie to her that she could feel the 3’ inch rivets digging through her skull and face.

Although she couldn’t see it, an even longer bolt with a needle at the end drove itself into an entry point at the base of her skull. The woman gasped, and her bionic eyes rolled to the back of her head at the sudden sharp pain that into her from the discomfort and extreme pressure from the rivets being drilled into her skull. Before losing consciousness again, the last thing she heard was a metallic click coming from inside her own head after the needled rivet jammed itself into the socket in a screwing motion, piercing deep into her cerebellum and other membranes of her brain…fastening itself into her cerebral cortex implant which housed her newly acquired onboard neural data processor.

Minutes later, her eyes would slowly open again after hearing the digitized voice of the AI softly say,

“Conversion complete. Unit energy levels are at 47% and charging. Approximately 6 hours until Unit is fully charged.”

Weak and unable to make any significant movement because of the magnetic forcefield that enveloped her, she had no choice but to look down at herself; she was quite amazed with the discovery of her new body. In her several years of being a loyal agent within her organization, she hadn’t seen anything like what she had been turned into and while she has witnessed many biotechnological breakthroughs on top of having previously received several of those cutting-edge augmentations and enhancements to her own body, she knew that her surgery was more than simple repairs. She came to the realization that she had undergone a complete mechanical metamorphosis, just as a caterpillar that emerged from her cocoon discovered that she was now a majestic monarch butterfly.

Somehow without even knowing, she communicated to her onboard systems to pull up her dossier. Almost instantly, her heads-up display featured her schematics complete with specs. As she analyzed the sheer firepower and formidability her new form was capable of, she smirked at what she thought was a slightly humorous irony. Very few people called her by her real name…just her closest family and friends and even they referred to her as her nickname. She would always introduce herself to others and answer by the moniker “Tank”; she was amused to learn that with her extensive cybernetic overhaul she had been transformed into a living, walking tank woman.

Tank seethed at the thought of returning to the battlefield, wanting to take her new body for a test run. She closed her eyes and played out possible scenarios in her head of her laying waste to her enemies as her enhanced brain continued scanning the myriad of combat data at blazing speeds until the warm soothing surge of her cybernetically enhanced body being energized lulled her back to sleep.

Man...y'all have NO IDEA how good it feels for me to actually write through an actual series of events after the past few years of being hampered by writers block! Yeah sure....I know that her store is par for the course when it comes to my cyborg gals, but hey....it just feels good being able to finish something for a change! And the visuals of "Tank" going through her transformation was the tip of the iceberg! Even the progression of the quality of each render is amazing to see, considering that I have a few better understanding of how to use Daz Studio now verses when I rendered the first image. Sure, there are still some issues here and there...and I wish that I could've fixed her physique, especially around her torso...but I'm still learning!

As for "Tank"...I really dig her character! The model is gorgeous with her smooth chocolate brown skin and other exquisite features. (It's Kori for Genesis 3 if you're interested) And I say that you can never have enough female cyborgs of color, as I'm like one of the few artists that I've found across the entire internet that consistantly create badass bionically-enhanced black women! I thought about making this somewhat of a prequel with Deuce...or perhaps she can just be a brand new character! Actually, I got the name "Tank" from an old Captain Power (damn, I'm telling on myself of just how old I am!) action figure. Tank was a male, but I always used to pretend that it was a female instead...and of course she was a cyborg!

I don't think I'm done with Tank, so keep an eye out for more of her in the future!
