I recently did a couple of renders of the homie 's character, Regiment We were talking about different iterations of her outfit and he went on to say that she's supposed to have an alternate armored form similar to that of her partner/teammate Division , yet he hasn't thought of how it would look.
Sooooo....I thought I would take a crack of what she could look like in her heavy armored form. Gary did describe her as being a big tank of a woman...so I did my best to make her look like a tank! I cranked up the muscle, found some pieces that would make some good armor, and voila!

Well, this is an interesting look. There are probably elements I can use. I am at a loss for words here, though because you were able to take time to create these renders, but not give feedback on the piece I spent at least six hours on for you. I was waiting until you did to comment on these, but, I'm done being petty. Two in a row of lackluster responses to my work is a big blow to the ol ego. lol I guess I need to improve.

Nah bruh...it ain't even like that! When I give responses to things that I want to say more than just, "Great job!" or "Nice Work!" to I want to make sure that I am taking my time to give a well-thought out response. As for these renders, these are "easy" since I've already had the base model for Regiment finished after the first render of her that I did; all of the other ones basically took a costume swap and maybe a little bit extra work on her armored versions, as I had to "kitbash" some pieces together for her mecha look.
I've had a lot going on lately and I want to give your piece a more dignified response than just "nice job". I enjoyed seeing it on FB, but I would much rather discuss and go into detail here on DA simply b/c I don't want to potentially have to explain to family members, friends, and acquaintances as to why my female characters are so beefy/muscular...as well as having to answer the question of why do I only create female characters to begin with! If asked, I will answer, but I'd rather not be put on the spot on a platform where I'm friends with my mom, pastor, and other family/friends/acquaintances that might not understand my art!
And my response/comment on pieces are what they are...they are truthful and I don't just put words together for the sake of having something to say or embellishing a piece of artwork; yours or anyone else's for that matter. I don't think it's fair to hold my comments to the same standard of what you would give someone or to what you're used to receiving from others. What may be "lackluster" to you may be a rave review to someone else. I definitely appreciate the time and work that you put into each drawing of my characters that you've done over the years...just b/c I don't run and immediately comment doesn't mean that I'm downing your work or insinuating that you need to improve.
I didn't mean to offend at all...my intention of creating more renders of Regiment was to go the extra mile since you've done solid work on so many of my OC's over the years. Especially since I don't have the resources to create them exactly as you envisioned them in. I've enjoyed and appreciated every piece of art that you've done for me...this new piece of Adora-1 included, and I will go straight there to comment when I'm done posting this comment.

What I need to improve is my attitude. In these days of social media we are all always looking for instant gratification. That is why I got off my high horse. I figured you had stuff going on. You know how we crave feedback on our work, and I was, not gonna lie, high off the responses to the first pieces. Everyone was asking about how their characters fit into G7 and that made me giddy. I was riding that into creating the next one, which was yours...and then I heard nothing. I lost my high. So I did the next one and he told me I misspelled her name. Then he posted handclaps on the posted piece. So my high is gone, and then I turn into Oscar the Grouch. And then I get over myself. So if I was offended, it's not your fault. This is all supposed to be fun anyway and I had fun with the thought experiment and seeing the final products.

Hey man...no worries; we've all got things about our attitudes that needs improving. I can totally relate with being addicted to the instant gratification that social media sites provides. I too feel some kind of way when I pose my work, thinking that it's pretty cool and expecting it to get adequate attention only for it to not get the attention that I was hoping for and end up taking it personally.
You're right...this is all supposed to be fun. I do remember a time years ago here on DA when it was a lot more fun than what it's become...but I guess that's how it is now. It's hard b/c we do pour so much of ourselves into our creations and the little bit of props and kudos that we do get is fleeting and we find ourselves wanting more.
