Description
After a few months of working on this on and off through other distractions, it is done. I have been haphazzardly calling this my "masterpiece," but since I did not conceive the original concept, I can hardly claim that. Either way, it is probably one of my best pixel pieces to date, and I made extensive use of dithering, and it worked well I think.To see a picture of the original album cover, check here: [link] (courtesy of Amazon).

Awesome detailing in this piece! You managed to create the textures on the statues perfectly! This is such a powerful image for me, because my dad's favourite band is Pink Floyd and he used to play this album in the car when I was really little. So this image always reminds me of being a young child... *gets all nostalgic* Anyways, well done! And congrats on the Daily Deviation! I think you have every right to call it a masterpiece =3

You know what it reminds me of - I read a while ago about a woman who started making cross-stich kits, with album covers as their designs. So the finished embroidery looked like a very pixellated but still iconic and recognisable, fuzzy version of albums like Michael Jackson's 'Bad'. This reminds me a lot of it. Cute.

This is the first time in 4 years I have ever faved pixel art. I think it would have gone over well with Mr. Thorgerson, were this an option to use at the time.

If that's the way you feel, you really should look farther back into my gallery. Not all of my work is done using photos or pictures for reference and recreating them. When I recreate something, it's because I choose to. Remaking what we see in life through art is simply a different way of expressing creativity, and one that I find more fulfilling a lot of the time. Just thought I'd clarify that

Actually, if you want to get technical, Storm Thorgerson is the one responsible for most of Pink Floyd's album covers, as well as inside sleeves and back covers. With Piper at the Gates of Dawn, The Wall, and The Final Cut being the exceptions. And I mention Amazon because, well, I am stealing their bandwidth.

Very clean. Like the use of dithering and colour layers to create a sense of movement, as though the light or shadows are lingering on the surfaces.

That is PERFECT. I looove it - the heads are so good and the sky is soooo good and the tree on the horizon is soooooooo good. I have momentarily had my articulate vocabulary stolen for the moment. Wow, I could stare at this and marvel at it for hours...EXCELLENT STUFF. Fav!

Wonderful work, it almost doesn't look like pixel art at all. I can see how you managed to spend months on it. Dithering is a pain to make, but you did it very well.
