Hey y'all!Here's something that I did a couple of years back (2008). Thought that I should post it here...
It's more detailed that the style you see me draw in my Street Fighter art. This is the style I mostly drew things back in the day, and now I've adapt to a much cleaner style... though I still love to use cross hatching for shadows from time to time...

This is amazing especially since I've always had a weak spot for Wolvie.
Heck I've named a dog after him and he's been here for 15 years.

Thank you! I drew this with my more grittier art style... with crosshatches and more detail, and is a lot closer to my true art style (I blend western and manga art styles together, a lot like Joe Madureira).
Unfortunately, not a lot of folks here on DA seem to favor my grittier style, and I get more recognition from my cleaner anime style.
I like to draw both styles... and depending on what I'm drawing, I chose the art style that would benefit the art I'm trying to present... like Street Fighter, I'll make it more manga/anime like and for something like the X-Men, I'd chose my more detailed style.

While I see how the others would prefer the cleaner art, I think your crosshatches are just as amazing to look at as your clean ones.
In addition it demonstrates your versatility in your abilities as an artist!!!

Thanks! Whenever I'm drawing Marvel or DC characters (or anything non anime or non Street Fighter), this is the style I typically use... when I say this, I mean I use more cross hatching for shadows and such. I use a cleaner style for my SF work, because I believe it fits better.
